Job interviews can be quite challenging. You need to present yourself in a professional manner, articulate your experiences without coming off as arrogant, and convince everyone that you are not boastful—while constantly wearing the most uncomfortable pair of shoes you own.
However, things operate a bit differently in the realm of Minecraft Pocket Edition. If you’re interested in joining a team of builders, you might find insights from Spire Azacore’s experience valuable. His latest project reached out to the esteemed building group Minecraft Octovon, giving him a glimpse into what it’s like to be part of one of the community’s top construction teams in MCPE.
“Octovon is a well-established and renowned team,” says Azacore. “I followed many of their builders on Twitter, and I was genuinely inspired by the work they do. It felt like they were on another level! This made me consider joining them, but I wasn’t ready yet. I took some time to hone my skills, and when they started accepting applications, I felt prepared to apply, so I did.”
“The application process is actually quite straightforward,” shares Azacore. “You just need to create a project that showcases your desire to join the team and highlights your unique building style. Originality is key here.”
If you’re trying to go solo in Minecraft Pocket Edition, it’s also beneficial to demonstrate a particular specialty—the one thing you excel at the most. For Azacore, this is his realistic creations. “If you check out my profiles on Twitter or Planet Minecraft, that’s where my strengths lie. I also enjoy crafting Sci-Fi and futuristic builds, but I’m primarily known for my realistic work.”
His realistic designs draw inspiration directly from his backyard. “These buildings were influenced by certain Spanish neighborhoods in my hometown,” explains Azacore. “But I knew that if I replicated real-life structures exactly, it wouldn’t be enough. I had to infuse some of my imagination into it as well.”
Clearly, this approach paid off, as he secured a position in Minecraft PE!
“It felt amazing,” remarks Azacore. “Receiving positive feedback from such a professional team makes anyone feel special and worthy.”
But even if you don’t succeed right away, there’s no need to worry. Not everyone receives immediate praise. Even Azacore faced rejection initially. “The first few teams I applied to turned me down,” he recalls. “When some doors close, you have to understand that even bigger ones will open up for you, but you must seek them out. That’s how I found my way to Octovon. Rejection stings, but use that feeling to improve yourself and your work. That’s the best advice I can offer.”
This is solid advice not only for aspiring builders in MCPE but also for those seeking new job opportunities. Don’t forget to bring band-aids for those uncomfortable shoes.
Azacore will soon begin working with his new team, so make sure to follow him on Twitter to see what he creates next.
