Holidays are swiftly approaching, marking a time of joy, gratitude, and Christmas celebrations. It’s the perfect moment to gather with friends and family for festivities, bring along some food, and venture together into a castle filled with spider-people eager to drain their souls.
Before you ask, yes, this is indeed a time-honored holiday tradition upheld by builder Brian, who has crafted his eerie abode in Minecraft Pocket Edition – a dark harvest storage.
“This place is home to a very wealthy noble family,” he tells me. “They are spider people. Every year, they lure unsuspecting individuals into their home with whimsical invitations and promises of a lavish party.”
All so they can suck the souls of their unwitting guests? Heh. I’ve attended worse parties.
But why create a mansion full of mini Shelobs in MCPE when there are other things to build with fewer spiders?
“This project is quite different from my usual work in Minecraft PE,” Brian explains. “I aimed to design a haunted estate. I started with several ideas that didn’t pan out as I hoped, so I scrapped them. However, the spirit of Halloween inspired me to keep going, and I got to work. I completed this build in four days.”
Like many players, Brian didn’t start his journey in Minecraft by creating terrifying mansions for spider cults. “I began playing on the iOS version two years ago, but it was purely by chance, not as a builder. I hopped between various servers, making lots of friends before finally settling down and starting my own server. It was meant to be just a space for me and my friends, but I wanted more. So, I began building, collaborating with other builders in the community.”
These friendships greatly benefited Brian, teaching him much not only about the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition but also about life.
“After two years, the most remarkable thing I’ve learned is patience and how to wait for greatness to happen. If you have a passion for growing and improving, pursue it. It’s challenging, but you can do it. A year ago, I was a stranger online, and now I’m close friends with some of the most talented people in the Minecraft community. To improve, all you need is plenty of practice and a group of skilled individuals.”
All these talents influenced Brian. “Mostly, I picked up my design style from my friends. Then I decided to take everything they taught me and experiment on my own.”
In the dark harvest storage, these lessons were put to serious use. “I’m constantly deleting and redoing builds until they’re good enough for publication,” Brian explains. “My favorite part was definitely the main island: mushrooms, vines, grass, and other vegetation.”
“My least favorite would be the wheat field.”
The devil is always in the details! But in the dark harvest storage, the devil also walks on eight legs and wants to invite you to dinner in MCPE.
Wait! I just wanted you to dine. Why are you running away? We haven’t even had dessert yet!
