A musical-themed construction? What a fantastic idea! After all, everyone loves music. Friedrich Nietzsche once stated, “Without music, life would be a mistake,” and the ghost of Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “Quote me on planet-mc.net, my favorite website, or I shall haunt you forever.” Well, I’ve fulfilled my duty; BEGONE, EVIL SPIRIT.
In any case, music can serve as excellent inspiration when working on a project! I personally write and edit these articles while enjoying the Minecraft PE soundtrack by Gareth Coker (gotta stay on brand), amidst the cries of my many foes in agony and my favorite tune, Yakety Sax. It really explains a lot.
Today’s builder, MaestroMK, was so inspired by his favorite tunes that they helped him create this stunning structure through music. A vibrant courtyard and white splendor, with a statue of a pianist at its perfect center. Bravo, MaestroMK! Encore, encore!
It’s quite surprising that this builder isn’t a musician himself. “I’ve never played the piano before,” says MaestroMK, and he has no plans to learn, but the instrument could serve as a great theme for a build.” Looking at his results, it’s hard not to agree!
The South Korean builder MaestroMK meticulously planned his creation even before placing a single block, sketching out his ideas and designing each floor’s layout. “Then I created the building frame in MCPE because it was difficult to visualize it only with images in my mind.”
These mental images shifted for MaestroMK, depending on what was playing in the playlist of Minecraft PE. “I built structures according to the mood set by the songs I was listening to,” he explains. “To me, listening to music while working is a very helpful addition to the process.”
Yes. Once I get home, I start performing motivational songs by Emily and Marsh; why do they stop writing anything and start throwing bricks? 🙁
What melodies did MaestroMK use while constructing buildings based on mood? “I usually listened to a lot of instrumental tracks, like piano music or pieces by ‘Two Steps From Hell’ and Thomas Bergersen.” I tried listening to several songs from both creators—very dramatic and epic—perfect for keeping you engaged in completing your project! Another hour passes without me writing this article and instead playing Battle Chef Brigade.
Even though the assembly turned out to be filled with inspiration, decorating the piano was actually the most challenging part for MaestroMK. “I tried many ways to fill the emptiness with decorations, but it was tough because embellishments often obscured the piano’s structure or disrupted the mood.” Like a band regretting their decision to hire nineteen drummers, sometimes you just have to realize less is more.
But if getting the piano right was the hardest note to hit, what was the biggest part of the melody?
“The funniest thing to build was creating the statue sitting on the chair,” says MaestroMK. “I enjoyed making different poses and experimenting with various colors.” In the end, he settled on black, which contrasts nicely with the light hues dominating the structure.
MaestroMK spent two weeks crafting this masterpiece and promises that his next build will be “a project that people will remember,” much like a great song that you just can’t shake off.
But let’s hope you don’t choose a terrible song that gets stuck in your head? Why did I start hearing Yakety Sax, even though it was a joke in the second paragraph? Whyyyy?
