A fresh wave of features has arrived in Minecraft PE. Players on Windows 10, VR, smartphones, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch can now discover delightful turtles, bubble columns, and a new terrifying mob!
For those playing the Java version, don’t worry; the developers haven’t forgotten you and are offering a trial version of the new update.
New Features List
- All servers are now accessible on Nintendo Switch
- Added frightening mobs – drowned
- Turtles – beautiful creatures that lay eggs. Protect them to see baby turtles soon!
- Turtle shell and its components
- Turtle Master potion
- Nautilus shell – an item found while fishing or from drowned mobs
- Heart of the Sea – an item that grants specific effects to players in Minecraft PE when nearby
- Bubble columns – magma blocks create downward columns, while soul sand creates upward ones

Changes in Minecraft Pocket Edition
- Main menu background updated to match the new release
- Undead mobs can now roam the ocean floor
- Improved boat controls
- If you give a dolphin raw fish or salmon, it will lead you to the nearest ruins or shipwrecks
- A corpse entering water turns into a zombie, and a zombie becomes drowned
- Skeleton horses can now move underwater
- Skeletons and strays can switch their attack type between melee when submerged and ranged when above water
- Coral blocks do not die when touching water on one side
- Player swimming mechanics enhanced
- New enchantment effects for tridents
- Riptide animation introduced in first-person view
- Friction of blue ice modified
- New texture for seaweed
