As you gaze at Dave and RCISam’s cruise ship setting sail for Azamara, it’s hard not to imagine yourself lounging on the deck, soaking up the sun while watching the gentle waves ripple beneath you. But wake up! We have an entire article dedicated to this very experience, so dive right in!
Dave shares that he has been passionate about boats for many years. “Everything related to cruise ships and vessels is incredibly fascinating,” he tells me. “You will never be bored on a cruise ship; there’s always something to do!”
This is why both Dave and Sam were completely confident that their creation would set sail for Azamara, embarking on a new adventure. The ship features private guest rooms where travelers can relax and enjoy their journey. There are also restaurants and cafes adorned with vibrant flowers, as well as a pool for those who prefer swimming without venturing into the ocean. It’s all about choice.
The friends worked on the ship for three weeks, but they started without a concrete plan. They decided to adapt as they went along. “I built most of my ships solo, but Sam asked me to collaborate,” explained Dave. “We began by constructing the bow of the ship and then finished with the stern in MCPE.”
“Once the exterior was complete, we moved on to the interior.” The voyage to Azamara differs from the smaller ships I’ve built before,” says Dave. “However, the interior adds complexity to the construction. The theater and the bridge were the most challenging aspects – we had to incorporate numerous details, but I truly enjoyed working on them in Minecraft Pocket Edition.”
The atrium serves as a lovely gathering spot for guests, perhaps to sip coffee on one of the cozy orange sofas. There’s also a balcony if you’d like to look down at the people below, protected by a glass barrier. The theater offers ample seating for everyone to unwind with their favorite drink while enjoying performances on stage.
Despite the intricate detailing of the ship’s interior, Dave prefers its exterior. “I’m really proud of it,” he tells me. And rightly so! He and Sam chose to recreate the Azamara voyage because they admired the sleek black hull, which stands out against the smooth white decks and twinkling lights.
They were also careful to include neat rows of lifeboats, ready for any emergencies at sea – hopefully, they’ll never be needed in Minecraft PE!
Dave plans to take a short break from building before starting his next project; however, his heart remains tied to the ocean. “I want to create some yachts or possibly other large cruise ships.”
Yachts are indeed magnificent, but I must say, if I were to embark on an ocean voyage, I believe I’d choose to be on one of Dave and Sam’s coolest ships. The only thing I’m uncertain about is whether to hit the pool or head to the spa instead?
