Sometimes I find myself pondering how many castles I’ve encountered around the world in Minecraft PE, constructed from a variety of blocks. Medieval fortresses, redstone castles, futuristic strongholds, epic fantasy palaces, watermelon towers, chocolate-covered keeps, and even mashed potato castles with gravy moats come to mind… Hmm, actually, I might be able to create those last two. I need to finish writing these articles before lunch.
In any case, today’s build will demonstrate that there is still plenty of life left in castles today as you continue to seek out fresh additions within them. The Korean builder, Crabcode, has done just that. His “Canyon City” has managed to inspire two distinct parts of the planet!
“I’ve always had an interest in artistic endeavors and enjoyed playing games,” Crabcode explains to me, “so I set out to find things that could enhance the gaming world with art and began working on Minecraft.
Crabcode embarked on his project with a strong desire to recreate simple urban architecture surrounded by a larger central element. After “searching for a good backdrop and quality illustration,” he stumbled upon a captivating landscape in a Texas city located in the Canyon. “This city was so beautiful, and I liked it so much that I decided to base my build on the image of the city I saw.”
However, the architectural designs prepared by Crabcode couldn’t align with the Texas city in the Canyon. Instead of trying to negotiate approval, he opted to modify the towers, tilt the roofs, and design the castle in a Middle Eastern style.
This architecture, he tells me, “was inspired by the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.” It’s a clever blend of influences—distant landscapes and architecture intertwined—that led to remarkable results! The resulting structure truly represents the best of both worlds! (Okay, fine, technically both locations are on the same land. In my defense, I ask you to hush.)
The city created by Crabcode is no small feat he undertook. He has tips for players in MCPE that can help craft excellent projects, but they take time, just like this one.
“You may get tired while building; it might not be fun at all,” he explains, but you can unlock new possibilities by using the regular site planet-mc.net. “When you realize you’re ready, invite your friends into the world of builds, and that’s when it becomes much more interesting, and you’ll bond with your friends.” Great idea! These friends are members of the Korean building team, GBF, and you can see many more creations from talented Korean builders on our website.”
So, what awaits us next? “I want to create a build in traditional Korean style,” says Crabcode. “I aim to spread the beauty of Korea through my creations.”
It doesn’t seem like he lacks the spherical form that replicates the beauty of the real world in Minecraft, especially since his constructions are based on Japanese architecture and Baroque palaces. They confirm this accuracy. Why not check out Crabcode’s Twitter for his other works?
