Colorful madness

As spring is just beginning, after three months of winter’s slush, mud, and dreary gray skies, it sometimes feels like this season has lasted forever. Occasionally, I find myself forgetting what summer looks like, along with the wildflowers and grass. That soft, green carpet spread across the ground, right?

Note: Just as we finished writing this article, the gloomy weather began to clear up, and now the beautiful sun is shining brightly. Can we consider ourselves psychics or wizards capable of influencing nature itself?

It’s wonderful that in Minecraft, it’s not winter; at least there, I can joyfully run on the green grass and enjoy life. This was the first piece of good news, and the second is a fantastic build called “Authenticity Relocated.” It features an abundance of vibrant colors, reminiscent of my childhood: once, I ate a bunch of colorful chalks, which later came out looking like a rainbow, much like this build. Of course, I mean that in a positive way; I truly love it!

“My goal was to create a build that would make people stop thinking, where all thoughts fade away, allowing them to simply feel,” says the creator, Immanuel. He describes his world as “psychedelic” and “alien.” His inspiration came from a friend’s build designed specifically for a Minecraft Bedrock contest. “We both participated in the competition. I placed second, while he took third, but his idea was so cool that I wanted to create something similar myself.”

“I love the idea of flying on a sea lion!”

The concept involved using what Immanuel refers to as “layers of non-being.” A “layer of non-being” is created in the editor, particularly with an eraser tool that removes lower blocks while leaving the upper ones intact, resulting in the effect of levitating blocks as if gravity doesn’t affect them at all. With this tool, Immanuel managed to craft such a bizarre world filled with floating objects.

Immanuel didn’t have a plan before starting construction nor did he construct anything beforehand. The only thing he knew for sure was those “layers of non-being.” “I realized I didn’t want to plan anything; I just wanted to build as I went,” he explains. “Seriously, I didn’t even have a blueprint; everything was done on-site.” He chose not to waste time on sketches and instead trusted his imagination. I believe the outcome exceeded all expectations!

Immanuel takes pride in what he has created and how different it is from most other builds—it’s a reflection of who he is. “I don’t like realism, modernism, or simplification,” he states. “I feel a certain degree of honor in being different from everyone else.”

It took Immanuel just over a week to complete the Authenticity Relocated build in Minecraft. Although he started without a plan, he knew he wanted to use as many colors as possible and create strong contrasts between them. He even made sure to highlight areas where he wanted people to focus by making them the most contrasting zones. For instance, look at the yellow forest surrounded by blue, which makes the trees stand out vibrantly.

There are specific details that Immanuel wishes to emphasize more than others. “I want to mention the pyramids containing galactic trees, or the flying trees and jellyfish biome.” He admits that his favorite part is the jellyfish. “I love that something from the underwater world suddenly moved into a completely different environment!”

For some, entering this colorful, slightly strange world might be a daunting experience. Others, however, would eagerly venture there. I suggest taking a break from the dull, gray reality and immersing yourself in the captivating, dizzying virtual world for a while!
