Community builds in Minecraft, inspired by historical architecture, often showcase remarkable creativity. The skill of the creator in capturing the accuracy and significance of these structures is truly impressive. Today’s feature is no exception—The Royal Palace of La Magdalena. The author, Nacho Blas, has crafted a precise 1:1 scale replica of the palace within Minecraft. The Palace of La Magdalena boasts a rich history that spans from its initial construction to its latest renovation in 1995. Located in Santander, Spain, it was built through a municipal initiative by the city council. Construction commenced in 1908, with one of its aims being to establish a summer residence in the region of Cantabria (where Santander is situated) for King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenie.
In modern times, the palace serves a variety of purposes. It hosts conferences, meetings, and even weddings. Despite these activities, the government has managed to preserve the historical significance of the building, which is crucial for the nation and for heritage sites in general.
If a trip to Spain isn’t on your agenda anytime soon (as 60,000 people from around the globe do each year), we invite you to take part in a virtual tour of the recreated palace in the world of Minecraft Bedrock. A big thank you to the creator of this build, Nacho Blas, for making this opportunity available. If you have your own builds that you’d like to share, please send them to the email “[email protected]“.
