Atlantis is Open!

In ancient times, when it was fashionable to wear sheets as clothing, the renowned philosopher Plato narrated a tale of a magnificent civilization – the Kingdom of Atlantis.

Plato depicted Atlantis as a vast empire situated on an island, famous for its wealth and unparalleled architecture, which mysteriously vanished one day. Some believe that a volcanic eruption buried this city under a massive layer of magma. Plato himself suggested that the gods were likely angered by the citizens’ distasteful attire and punished them by sending their beloved home into oblivion. Others argue that Atlantis never existed at all—Plato had a penchant for allegories and such.

It’s no surprise! With modern technology and your favorite world in Minecraft PE, explorers and ocean enthusiasts can also uncover the wonders of Atlantis. This ancient city with questionable fashion sense is resurfacing from the depths, thanks to builder Hyperscale and his friends at TheAtlanticCraft.

Hyperscale entered Minecraft during its alpha testing phase. “I simply enjoyed the freedom,” he shares. “You could create anything that came to mind.” It was this unleashed imagination that inspired him to start building, beginning with a “rough Eiffel Tower” and evolving into other incredible concepts.

“For about the first year, I just loved constructing for small servers, creating spawns for fun and exploring various building techniques by following online images/videos. Eventually, I began collaborating with YouTuber TheAtlanticCraft on the initial concept of Atlantis nearly two years ago.”

You heard that right: two years! This astonishing city took two years of dedicated work! In that time, you could earn a law degree or travel around the globe. Or build an epic underwater kingdom in Minecraft Pocket Edition!

This wasn’t merely two years of continuous construction. “Whenever we envisioned another part of the city that needed building, I would take on that task.” And Hyperscale is incredibly devoted to his creations.

TheAtlanticCraft and I always aim to create the best environment and atmosphere for our animations and videos. Therefore, I constantly need to construct them to specification!”

This is evident. One can see that experts pay attention to detail in every structure: the bank, hospital, courthouse. And undoubtedly, you can observe this in Hyperscale’s favorite creation, the Sky Elevator.

“I love the style; it’s very futuristic and technologically advanced.” But he cherishes his favorite building more than just any whimsical block creation.

“The Sky Elevator symbolizes the people of the underwater realm moving forward and being able to rise above ground level. So for me, it has always represented learning, growth, and discovering new things!”

Exploring new ideas, like how to create such a large underwater structure in Minecraft PE.

Hyperscale continues to develop Atlantis with even grander projects in mind. Ultimately, he wishes to dive beneath the sea for something beyond our real-world confines.

“My ‘dream project’ should be a colossal yet highly contained cyberpunk city. Enormous floating roads and crazy neon signs everywhere. I think it will create an amazing atmosphere. With new blocks that are incredibly vibrant, perhaps this dream is now closer to realization.”
