We experience childlike joy when we encounter snow globes. These enchanting creations, seemingly imbued with their own unique magic, can captivate anyone. Just give them a shake, and the shimmering flakes of snow will gently and slowly descend, sparkling in the light. This all unfolds in a delightful setting—whether it’s a tourist hotspot or amidst nature. However, nothing quite compares to outer space! Today, we are venturing into that realm within Minecraft PE!
The creators of this project have previously attempted to design unique maps inspired by the concept of snow globes in Minecraft PE. Now, they have taken it to a new level by incorporating an extraterrestrial element!
They aimed to create a futuristic world with a distinct theme: massive spheres surrounded by countless floating spaceships and peculiar, jagged mechanisms.
According to the developer, he sought to craft something that would redefine the standards of snow globe constructions and bring something special to Minecraft PE. Ultimately, he succeeded in building a world where the spheres only vaguely resemble traditional Christmas ornaments.
Unfortunately, at the exhibition, this map secured only third place, as the judges felt the originality of the idea was insufficient for higher rankings. Initially, the main criterion for evaluation was the uniqueness and absolute novelty of the concept, distinguishing the map from others. However, Alex—the map’s creator—was not disheartened, as he participated in the competition purely for enjoyment.
This creation served as significant motivation for Alex to enhance his building and designing skills in Minecraft PE. While teams of several members entered the competition, our developer worked solo. He managed to construct such a vast creation in a remarkably short time, with most of the design, material selection, and many structural elements being conceived by him, aside from a few suggestions he received.
It’s fair to say that Alex somewhat exaggerated his claim of completing everything alone, as it seems implausible that one person could manage such a large project in such a timeframe! In response, Alex simply stated, “The rules of competitions requiring team participation put immense pressure on those who create their projects solo. Therefore, I had to work double-time to keep up with everyone else. While I built the spaceships, I gradually began working on the mechanical rings, all while contemplating the next element. It was crucial to plan the structures that would be created later to avoid wasting time on their conception, so I had to juggle tasks.”
The entire effort invested in the project took about 14 days, with daily work ranging from 2 to 8 hours in Minecraft PE. This is truly impressive.
Alex didn’t need to spend excessive time on the creation since most of the ideas and inspiration came solely from his imagination and memories of various sci-fi films. Most of the structures are spherical, as the creator believed that this shape would best align with the cosmic theme.
Initially, the developer constructed smaller components before integrating them into the necessary locations. As a result, this unique creation emerged, unlike anything else.
Twelve projects were showcased at the exhibition, and undoubtedly, each one was magnificent. This creativity inspired Alex to participate in the competition, as it helps acquire new skills and techniques in building within the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition. We highly recommend you explore them too!
