Have you ever needed to reach a destination in mere moments? Perhaps you’re heading off for a vacation or urgently need to cross a border before the police catch up with you. Regardless of your reason, don’t waste money on tickets or hitchhiking. Just check out the project Gateway: BW24hrBb by Necrosys.
Seriously? BW24hrBb? That’s quite a mouthful. Whenever I try to say it, I end up making random noises and attracting odd looks on the bus. However, there is a valid reason behind this peculiar combination of letters and numbers.
“The gate was created during a competition where my team had to construct something special within 24 hours. My task was to build this particular gateway, one of five made by each team member,” shares the creator.
Just think about it—the developer completed this project in just 24 hours during some kind of contest! And possibly even less time:
“In reality, I only spent 12 hours working on it because I didn’t want to disrupt my sleep schedule. If I had more time, I could have built one large spaceship along with several smaller ones that would fly through the gate,” Necrosys reveals.
That certainly has its merits. But I wouldn’t feel comfortable using an intergalactic portal crafted by someone who says before bed, “Don’t forget to add this and that so the portal doesn’t send you to a dimension filled with spiders and broken fingers.”
“Actually, our team Blockworks has a huge fanbase, so the competition was mainly held to allow viewers to come and support us, and perhaps learn a few building tips,” notes the creator. Not advice on how to avoid planned tasks, but rather simpler and more useful tips for enhancing building skills in Minecraft Pocket Edition.
“What we create is quite substantial and grand in scale, which is why we employ many techniques used by advanced builders. The author aims to teach other users of Minecraft PE to expand their thinking and consider beyond just blocks.
“Most builders often start by constructing a wall and then work from there. I prefer a completely different approach. Initially, I outline the shape of the object, refine the geometric form of the structure I wish to create, and then begin filling in the gaps. This way, I don’t start small, yet I also limit the construction. Observers can see everything I do and how I build,” Necrosys explains.
And looking at the images below, there’s no doubt about it.
“One aspect that draws me to this build is the incredible atmosphere. When you fly into or out of the gates, you’re greeted by a structure filled with numerous lights and particles. Additionally, the project looks significantly better in Minecraft PE than in rendering,” the creator shares.
How much energy would be required to power such a massive gate? Fortunately, our builder didn’t need to steal uranium to get the structure running. The community’s energy will take care of that.
“Teamwork is the best part of the game. You are surrounded by the finest builders from all over the world. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet them. Working as a team has allowed me to broaden my perspective and learn various building methods.”
The author hasn’t learned the results of the competition yet, but we wish him luck! Meanwhile, could you help me escape from these spiders and broken fingers?
