Yesterday was May 22nd, and did you know that on this day we celebrate International Day of Ready? It’s also a joyful Sea Day!
Unfamiliar with these quirky celebrations? That’s likely because you haven’t been keeping up with the latest Minecraft news. We make it a point to stay updated on current events and share that information with you. It’s also worth mentioning an individual by the name of Rossi, who never overlooks lesser-known holidays and even crafts special builds for them. Will he be celebrating Gothic Day or Maritime Day today? I hope he combines both themes and creates a ship adorned with striking black fringe.
“I needed to learn how to survive, create something, and share screenshots on social media,” he tells me. “However, coming up with random ideas every day was challenging, so I looked into national and international holidays and found several websites that list them.”
“I browse through the list of national holidays and try to pick something intriguing, which often leads to food-related themes since everyone enjoys food,” he explains (correctly). National Cupcake Day! You can give me a cupcake on this day. International Tub Day Pencil Day! Not sure when it’s celebrated? Neither do we!
Since the beginning of this year, Rossi has completed over a hundred builds. He mentions that it usually takes him less than an hour, but it still requires a lot of patience, inspiration, and determination to finish his projects. He admitted that there are times when he has to completely abandon his work and delete it because he simply doesn’t like how the final build looks. And then it’s back to square one?
The builds he enjoys the most are those where the theme allows him some flexibility and creativity. For instance, on National Rubber Ducky Day, he created nine adorable ducklings, each styled after mobs from Minecraft Bedrock. Interestingly, one retained its natural appearance, and oddly enough, it ended up right in the center. It looks as if eight hybrid ducklings are holding one normal duck hostage. I wouldn’t want to be in its position! Easter also didn’t go unnoticed, and for the occasion, Rossi crafted monster bunnies. I had no idea you could quack with joy until I saw this picture.
Among his other favorites, he also has a fondness for animals, as who doesn’t adore our furry companions? For World Penguin Day, Rossi crafted one of these birds, although he mentioned it took him a while to decide which species to create. I believe the classic white-bellied penguin with orange feet was an excellent choice.
He also shared that he enjoyed imagining what a groundhog might look like in Minecraft Pocket Edition. Watch out, Mojang developers! Rossi and his delightful rodent with sharp teeth are moving on to new adventures!Groundhog Day? Wait a minute, didn’t I see this image yesterday?
The latest favorite of Rossi that he told us about was created by accident. For instance, during the Red Wagon Day (yes, I’m not sure what that is either), Rossi crafted a beautiful cart adorned with white trim and wooden fences to keep the wheels in place.
However, he admits that he initially forgot to add a handle! “I included it at the very end because I remembered it too late. But honestly, I kind of liked it. It shows that everyone makes mistakes, and that’s perfectly fine.” What a positive outlook! (Though if he had kept it a secret, I would have never guessed…) He also mentioned the final stage of these builds, which isn’t shown on his Twitter account. “I archive each build by cloning it into a special area of Minecraft,” he explains. This means you can view all 100+ builds in one location, like a grand museum of quirky and wonderful holidays.
