The new update will also reach all consoles after a brief hiatus: PlayStation 4 Edition, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, and Wii U. Although the developers of Minecraft PE aim to assist all gamers, less than 5% of players are on older consoles. Thus, the decision was made to focus support on platforms with the highest number of active users: Java, PlayStation 4 Edition, Windows 10, and mobile devices.
Since players on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch can transition to the new version of Minecraft Pocket Edition, the developers will not introduce updates to the older game versions still running on these systems. The time has come to dive into the new update! If you have an old version of Minecraft on Xbox One, you’ll be able to download the new version of Minecraft for free from the Xbox store. Players on Switch will receive a patch for the Aquatic update upon its release and will also be able to install the new version of the game at no cost.
