Are you tired of the repetitive landscapes in the upper world of Minecraft, with all those cute animals, constant material gathering for crafting, potion brewing, and ore mining? If you dream of a challenging, perilous, and truly hardcore existence, it’s time to make a change! Calm your restless spirit by embarking on a journey to the Nether realm of Minecraft! This is a true family adventure (especially if your family is fire-resistant) featuring stunning views of ancient fortress ruins, untamed nature, and a rich culture of local inhabitants (somewhat hostile, but that’s not too important). If you’re looking to escape from daily monotony, you’ve found the perfect way to do so!
Before the developers release the update for the Nether, we will embark on a journey to this realm to learn as much as possible about the hottest world in Minecraft Bedrock.
When are we leaving?
The Nether doesn’t allow for haste, so we need to carefully plan our travel route. First, let’s figure out our mode of transportation. We’ll have to build it ourselves! Therefore, we need to gather some blocks of obsidian, flint, and steel, which will help us create our means of transport—a portal.
You can create portals of any size, but if you have a limited amount of materials, it’s best to construct the simplest one—two blocks wide and three blocks tall.Once the frame is built, the next step is crucial—filling it in. Use fire and flint to ignite the portal. You should see a purple liquid substance appear inside the portal.
You might hear some unusual noises, but there’s no need to worry; they are just the friendly inhabitants of other realms.
Packing Essentials
To ensure your journey is relatively pleasant, it’s important to bring along a few items. For solid protection, I recommend wearing two layers of armor: diamond and iron. Trust me, you’ll be grateful later. Additionally, consider bringing a weapon in case the locals take too much interest in you, a pickaxe for collecting souvenirs, food, and a flint and steel in case you wish to return home. Also, pack a stack of cobblestones. As for other belongings, it’s best to leave them at home.
Following the Markers
The Nether has claimed more than one life in Minecraft, so it’s time for us to create some escape routes. In the previous step, we gathered cobblestones, and now is their moment to shine. Many players, upon entering the Nether, scatter in different directions and find it impossible to retrace their steps. To make it back home without succumbing to hunger, we need to lay down a path. As you move forward, occasionally place cobblestone blocks that will guide you back home, much like Hansel and Gretel did.Another tip: if you hold down the “walk” button, you’ll never fall. It may be slower, but it’s definitely safer.
While constructing a tunnel, you might unexpectedly encounter a surge of lava pouring down on you. To prevent this from happening, make sure to build your tunnel with a width of two blocks.
Getting Acquainted with the Locals
Upon your arrival, you’ll be greeted by the local inhabitants—zombie pigmen. While they may acknowledge your presence, don’t expect any kindness from them. In the Nether, solitude will be your closest companion. Want to strike a zombie pigman? I hope you can run fast because injuring one will trigger a chain reaction with the others. They have a strong sense of teamwork, so don’t count on escaping unscathed.
You’ll also encounter Magma Cubes. They aren’t aggressive, but touching them will cost you a few hearts. Looking to unwind? Enjoy sounds unlike anything in the Overworld of Minecraft Pocket Edition, a blend of bubbling lava and the chatter of zombie pigmen! And let’s not forget the charismatic Ghasts! These creatures are quite deceptive! If they take a disliking to you, consider your journey over. Ghasts spit fireballs and are generally rather unpleasant beings.
Attractions
The Nether is renowned for its fortresses featuring stunning architecture. It is home to various creatures, with traps and dead ends lurking everywhere, making these fortresses essential for exploration! The most unfriendly inhabitants are the Wither Skeletons. If you think about asking them for directions—don’t bother. They wield swords and often poison themselves, which can leave you afflicted for a long time. Another type of fortress dweller is the Blaze. Essentially, they are sentient forms of lava that attack players by launching fireballs at them.
What to Eat?
The culinary skills of the locals are truly admirable, so we rely on what nature provides. However, it’s best not to consume the gifts from the Nether; instead, bring your own food. If necessary, look for mushrooms and whip up a stew.
Rest
Scientists have yet to explain the physical laws governing the Nether, leaving us with only cold hard facts. If you’re looking to relax, don’t bother bringing a bed from home. All beds placed in those areas explode, so find alternative ways to survive. At this point, we suggest wrapping up your adventure and heading back home to Minecraft. You haven’t forgotten to place cobblestone blocks, have you?
