She's watching us!

Introducing Gareos, a vast city adorned with stunning dome-shaped structures scattered throughout the landscape. However, the most striking feature of this build is an enormous white statue that watches over all who dare to enter the city. If you feel that the statue instills fear and turns your exploration into a tense mission, rest assured—this was indeed the intention. The creator, Kubik, deliberately designed such a statue. After all, who wouldn’t want their creation to intimidate anyone brave enough to gaze upon it?

Kubik didn’t have a specific concept in mind but knew he wanted to create something vibrant and memorable. He certainly achieved his goal! Every detail fits seamlessly into the overall design of the build and enhances its appeal. The red-gold and green domes, along with orange flags, brought the structure to life just as the author envisioned.

Despite the predominantly bright colors of the build, white plays a crucial role. It forms the cliffs, walls, and the statue itself. To prevent everything from blending into a confusing white mass, various shades of this color are used: the cliffs are slightly paler than the other structures. When viewing the build as a whole, no part gets lost against the others, positively impacting players’ visual experience.

“If you’re aiming for something grand, don’t limit yourself to certain blocks; try using a wider range of colors and mix them to achieve unique combinations that will likely make your build stand out,” explains Kubik. We asked him which part he considered the best. This question momentarily stumped him, but he eventually decided on the statue. “I’ve never built anything more complex than this statue. I think it was the toughest challenge I’ve faced in all my years building in Minecraft Bedrock. The outcome exceeded all expectations, and I’m pleased with the work done.” It’s the best way to get everything right on the first attempt.

“Building the statue initially felt like solving a puzzle,” says Kubik. “I utilized WorldEdit to create different spheres. Once the figure started taking on a somewhat humanoid shape, I began modeling it further using the same WorldEdit tools.”

Not sure what that means? In short, WorldEdit is a program that assists players in Minecraft in mastering various advanced building techniques. You can read more about it in our article.

The statue undoubtedly looks majestic, but its constant watchfulness prevents me from fully enjoying the build, so I prefer to view everything from another angle. From this perspective, the city appears similar to any ordinary town, bringing peace to my soul. Once I managed to ignore the unsettling gaze, I could appreciate other details, such as the river flowing beneath the arch carved into the largest building or the trees clinging to the rocky cliffs to avoid falling into the deep sea. Vines covering the buildings, trees, and nearly all towering structures give the impression of rain. Additionally, depending on the viewpoint, clouds hint at possible rainfall. If you wish to stay dry, I suggest hiding under the statue—but you’ll have to go first.

Kubik spent two years crafting the city of Gareos into what we see today. “I began my projects on creative servers, but since I had no experience, everything looked quite basic. Gradually, my skills improved, and now I take pride in my abilities.”

Having reached such heights, Kubik has no plans to stop. “I want to refine my craft, getting better each time. This is all to witness my builds evolve alongside my skills!”

Hmm, will he continue to construct statues in his builds? Or will he keep this one as the sole giant and eerie human statue in Minecraft Pocket Edition? Just mentioning it sends shivers down my spine. I must hurry to finish this article, or I fear I might lose my sanity. Hopefully, I’ll be able to sleep tonight…
