Typically, when updates or new items are mentioned, we tend to feel quite knowledgeable and informed (or at least we like to think so). More often than not, these updates involve pickaxes, with shovels appearing a bit less frequently.
Well, it seems we need to work on our sense of humor and come up with funnier and more original jokes (as if that’s even possible) for future news regarding the pickaxe. Why is this necessary? The jokes we’ve used before have become overly familiar and clichéd. But there’s an even more significant reason! It’s time for us to proudly announce, with both joy and tears in our eyes, the release date of the new Minecraft movie!
This date is March 4, 2022. Yes, it’s quite a wait. So gather your patience, as it will be worth it! If you do the math, that’s just 1053 days. Or about 34 months, or 150 weeks, or one million five hundred thousand minutes. We’re not exactly math whizzes, and we didn’t have much time to calculate, so those figures are rough estimates. However, producing a full-length feature film isn’t easy, which makes these four years quite reasonable.
So, what can we expect in roughly 25,000 hours? Well, once you’ve devoured all the food prepared for the movie (we’re true fans of suspicious stew with square watermelons), we’ll share the story of a teenage girl and her group of adventurers. After the Ender Dragon wreaks havoc, this group’s mission becomes saving their beautiful blocky world. Sounds amazing! Plus, the director of the film is none other than Peter Sollett (Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist), so we can trust that under his talented direction, everything will unfold just as scripted, and the film will earn well-deserved accolades! No doubt about it! But that’s not all. Minecraft Bedrock has partnered with Warner Bros. during production. We want to convey that the film will be fantastic, and every minute spent waiting for it will be worthwhile!
Since all members of the Minecraft team are game developers, working on the film will be quite exciting for them. Although the movie will differ from the game (otherwise, you’d end up with an endless film in very low resolution), one thing will definitely remain the same. The film will be made just like the game – for you. The organizers and initiators of the shoot sought inspiration from the most unusual sources, which are nearly impossible to list. Yet, the most inspiring, energizing, and motivating elements continue to be the incredible creations made by players of Minecraft Pocket Edition every day. So, if you think what you create goes unnoticed, you’re sorely mistaken.
