Great news! A festive update titled “Buzzing Bees” is coming to Minecraft! The release date is set for December 11, and in celebration of this exciting event, the Mojang team has decided to launch several themed projects!
If you want to learn more about the upcoming update, you can tune into live streams. These will take place in countries such as the USA, Brazil, and Australia from December 6 to 8. Here’s the streaming schedule: Additionally, from December 13 to 15, there will be an in-game community run in Minecraft, where winners will receive valuable prizes. This is a new limited edition clothing collection released in honor of the update. It will be available starting this Friday, but we’ll revisit it on December 11 when “Buzzing Bees” finally launches.
You may have wondered why bees are the focus. There are indeed significant reasons for this. Bees play a crucial role in our planet’s ecosystem, but recently their populations have been declining sharply, which understandably could have detrimental effects on nature and Earth as a whole. In collaboration with WWF (World Wildlife Fund), Minecraft aims to assist these humble, hardworking, and vulnerable insects by raising funds to support bees and other species that are critically endangered and require our help. There are three ways you can contribute: make a donation during the live stream, purchase official apparel from the Minecraft Bedrock collection (you can find it here), or buy a bee skin, with 62.5% of the proceeds going to the World Wildlife Fund. Mojang will also participate by donating $100,000.
We are thankful to everyone who took part in the campaign. And of course, a huge thank you to the Mojang team for their compassion and support towards those in need of our assistance and attention to bees!
