As you navigate through endless gravel blocks, crawling along the banks of the most beautiful and astonishing rivers in Minecraft, you may eventually stumble upon something truly valuable. It resembles a crystal and is highly sought after by the archery villagers. You might have already guessed what it is. Thus, our item of the week is flint!
Flint was introduced to Minecraft back in 2010 during the release of the “indev” version. Initially, it could only be crafted with steel, but in the “alpha” update, its functionality expanded, allowing for the creation of arrows. Previously, players faced challenges distinguishing between flint and coal, but in the latest update, the textures of flint were altered. Generally, players mine flint themselves by searching through gravel blocks. There’s another method that isn’t particularly popular, yet still exists. You can rummage through the chests of villager archers to find some flint, just remember to return what you take, as the villagers need resources to survive too.
If you have accumulated a lot of flint, you can start your own archery shop in Minecraft Bedrock. To do this, you’ll need to craft a fletching table and arrows. However, for the latter, feathers are required, so you’ll also need to establish a chicken farm to run a complete shop.
If you’ve decided to be prudent and abandon the archer’s path, you can trade your excess flint with archers for emeralds. If needed, you can use the earned funds to buy arrows. But honestly, if you’re not sitting on a large stash of flint, it’s much easier and cheaper to make arrows yourself. In the real world, flint is a type of quartz found in sedimentary rocks like chalk and limestone. The jagged edges of flint, which may result from fractures, are typically very sharp and hard. Ancient people recognized this and adapted flint for use as weapons and tools. They would grab a spear and rush around with it. This was a poor choice, as everyone knows that running with sharp objects in hand is dangerous. It’s no surprise they met their demise before progress caught up with them.
