People often mention the importance of consuming more greens. We decided to embrace this notion and chose carrots as our item of the week. Today, we are exploring this vibrant orange vegetable!
Carrots were introduced in Minecraft with version 1.4.2. This update was quite eerie, as it also brought us anvils, bats, and withers. Initially, players could only obtain carrots by defeating zombies, and the drop rate was rather low. Later on, developers enhanced their availability by including them in treasure chests found on shipwrecks, at pillager outposts, and within village farms.
Before you munch on the first carrot you find, consider the future of your Minecraft character. To ensure they have food in the near future, it’s better to plant it in the ground, and after some time, you’ll harvest not just one but a total of 1-5 carrots! If you use an enchanted tool, that number will increase.
It’s math time! If you plant all the freshly gathered carrots, your next yield could reach up to 25 pieces. Harvest them, replant, and you might end up with as many as 125 carrots! That’s two stacks from just three harvests! Just remember to keep an eye out for those sneaky rabbits that love to come by and nibble on everything you’ve worked so hard to grow.
What can you do with such a bounty of carrots? Besides eating them, you can use them to breed or tame rabbits and pigs. You can also sell them to villagers for a few emeralds. If you’re tired of feeding your character raw carrots, now is the perfect time to learn how to create culinary masterpieces in Minecraft Bedrock, like rabbit stew, caramelized carrots, or golden carrots (which are needed for crafting night vision potions). Lastly, a versatile option for most crops is recycling them in a composter!
