Invite your friends to Realms using easily shareable links!
As the Minecraft community celebrates the release of the Better Together update, the Realms team is dedicated to enhancing and simplifying the experience of playing together in Realms more than ever before.
The newly introduced Realms invite links are the simplest way to bring new friends into your Realm. You can find them on iOS, Android, and Windows 10, with support for Xbox One coming soon!
Invite links are customizable URLs specifically generated for your Realm and are unique. You can use them in Minecraft to invite new players. When someone clicks on an invite link, they will be prompted to log in or create an account using their Xbox Live credentials, allowing them to be whitelisted in the Realm immediately. This means they can enter the Minecraft world even if its owner is offline.
If it gets a bit crowded, you can revoke the old invite link so that no one else can use it—just refresh the link from your Realms settings. Only the latest version of your invite link will allow new players to join in Minecraft, so it’s up to you whether to share the new link with a fresh group of friends or keep it private.
Once you update the invite link, all Minecraft players who have previously joined will remain whitelisted in the Realm and can access the world, but no new players will be able to use that link to gain entry. Of course, any players you’ve blocked through Xbox Live using any of your links will never be able to join or access your worlds.
So now, do you want to share your Minecraft world with family, close friends, or the entire globe? You can effortlessly add them to your Realm with invites. Want to learn more about Realms?
