If invaders manage to bypass all your defenses and corner you in your position, this sneaky trap could be your salvation. You can build it on any wall of your castle, allowing you to spot every passerby and direct arrows at them. This way, arrows will be shot directly at the faces of the intruders or anything else to protect your territory in MCPE.
Proper Usage
The defensive structure is one of the simplest traps you can add to your castle, featuring a straightforward redstone design triggered by a large array of pressure plates. However, it can also be one of the most lethal due to its extensive coverage, making it difficult to escape from this trap in Minecraft Pocket Edition.
Redstone Placement
The redstone used in this trap is divided into two sections: upper and lower. The upper section controls the dispensers, while the lower part manages the redstone grid. The grid is equipped with stone pressure plates above and an impulse circuit, a simple system that generates a red signal which repeatedly responds to the pressure plates, firing a continuous stream of arrows.
Dispenser Arrangement
When the signal reaches the top, it simultaneously activates four dispensers on both sides of the trap, unleashing a barrage of arrows throughout the room. The dispensers are positioned so they do not fire directly opposite each other. This means that every block within the trap falls under the dispenser’s range, ensuring that there’s no escape for the arrows aimed at the foes. Thus, every arrow will hit the invader in MCPE!
Quick Pulsing Mechanism
The mechanism consists of two blocks connected by redstone, with a redstone torch placed at the front and back of each block. When a pressure plate is activated, the signal travels through the redstone grid, rapidly turning the mechanism on and off, sending intermittent signals via repeaters on either side of the trap towards the upper section in Minecraft Pocket Edition!
Pressure Plates
Every inch of the floor in the room where the dispensers are located is covered with pressure plates, each having a corresponding redstone block beneath it in the lower section grid. This comprehensive coverage ensures that every step taken by an intruder triggers arrows to fly once again.
Variations
To make life even harder for intruders, the corridor can be extended further. The black grid should continue until the pressure plates and dispenser placements stretch beyond. Most importantly, the redstone signal can only travel fifteen blocks, so redstone repeaters need to be placed in four separate locations every fifteen blocks in Minecraft PE. Two of these are shown in the image below, and two more should be added on the opposite side. Ensure they are facing the correct direction; otherwise, the circuit will break.
