DaftStar shares insights about a project that has been in the making for four years.
Here, within the realm of our Minecraft Pocket Edition project, we take pleasure in creating and showcasing various constructions of all sizes! Sometimes we delve into sculptures, while at other times we build vast cities. Today, however, our focus is on DaftStar, a builder who has crafted an entire empire!
He dedicated four years to developing the expanding civilization of Frissia. “Initially, I didn’t have a clear vision for large-scale construction; I only started with small towns,” he explained. “The building was created during my free time as a hobby, purely for enjoyment. I’m genuinely interested in architecture and urbanism and wish to explore them further in the future. Thus, this construction became a fantastic way to express my ideas.
DaftStar employed a variety of styles to create this monumental piece of art. The initial cities he built were partially inspired by trading hubs from ancient empires: “For instance, Greece, Rome, Phoenicia, and so forth.” As his creation expanded, he also compiled a list of his ideas.
“The color palette—specifically, white stone blocks and blue roofs—was influenced by traditional Greek architecture. I also incorporated some elements from these designs into subsequent creative projects. There are numerous styles represented here, including Roman, Ancient Greek, Byzantine, Renaissance, Gothic, Middle Eastern, and more…” He even decided to venture into modern science fiction when contemplating the shapes of some of his buildings.
A journey through Frissia reveals a true melting pot of ideas; notice the temples, cathedrals, and churches in various styles, along with iconic structures like the Colosseum and the Tower of Babel in MCPE. Each building carries its unique concept. “I always drew inspiration from real life. Observing cities and structures, I aimed to recreate them in my own interpretation within Minecraft Pocket Edition, rather than simply copying.”
“Across the empire, you can observe varying architectural styles, which become increasingly refined and detailed.”
No single empire consists solely of massive cities. Small villages and towns spread out due to landscape features such as fields and roads, allowing citizens to access food and transportation. “Within the cities, you’ll also find many structures, including castles and baths,” says DaftStar. “However, there are three cities that stand out as larger than others, boasting intricate details and characteristics.”
Even these urban areas do not encompass all the buildings across the map in MCPE; DaftStar undertook extensive work planting flowers and trees between the white stone walls, as well as on balconies and rooftops. If you look closely, you might spot grazing sheep scattered throughout certain locations!
In these cities lies his favorite aspect of the constructions. With such expansive land, it seems challenging to choose favorites, yet he believes he has grown into a better builder since he first began working on Frissia four years ago!
“I believe my building style has significantly improved over these four years,” he concludes. These megacities, constructed earlier, can be found in the Far East and the distant southern empire. In case anyone struggles to navigate, Daftstar has provided a handy colored map for explorers to use in Minecraft PE.
He hopes people will appreciate his finest works, and rightly so. It’s fascinating to witness his progress throughout the world. The empire not only spans diverse regions thanks to its inspiring concept but also showcases the builder’s evolution in MCPE.
