Among the estates and slums

I attempted to persuade my friend to let me climb onto his shoulders so I could reach the cottage marked “For Golems Only.” What does their dwelling look like? I bet everything, especially the food, is rich in iron!

Nevertheless, it turns out that the desire to stack on top of one another isn’t exclusive to humans—buildings seem to enjoy it too. Just take a look at these charming little houses crafted by Juan Sebastián Mursi! I have a lot to catch up on if I want to learn how to create such amazing structures. Sebastián began his building journey seven years ago when Minecraft was still in version 1.4.6. It was during this time that fireworks were introduced, and apparently, the studio Mojang anticipated the arrival of talented builders like Sebastián and welcomed him with vibrant displays.

Currently, Sebastian is a content creator for the gaming store. However, in the “Slums and Estates” collection, the aim was not to share skins and resource packs, but to convey the stories of the rich and the poor.

“One day, I was watching the news in my country, Colombia, and it highlighted the stark inequality among people,” Sebastian shares. “That’s when the idea struck me to create a game that would reflect not only the disparities in my own country but also those found elsewhere. I envisioned it as an appealing structure with a pleasing design.” At the pinnacle of a tall island above the water stands a magnificent palace. The gleaming wide windows beneath multi-tiered domes evoke thoughts of grand ballrooms and lavish parties held within. However, at the base of the estate lie slums. From the beach, it appears as though numerous tiny houses are propping up the majestic residence.

Sebastian was searching for estate ideas on Pinterest and Artstation, but he didn’t have to look far for inspiration regarding slum construction. “The foundation for low-income neighborhoods was the 13th commune in Medellín,” he states. “It matched the narrative and style of my project.”

The current commune 13 is situated on a mountainside, accessible via external escalators. Can you imagine how much redstone would be required to construct them? However, such challenges only inspire Sebastián; his commune in Minecraft is filled with light that gives the surroundings a vibrant and appealing appearance. “There are many people everywhere who have something to showcase to the world, but unfortunately, they lack the opportunity to do so. Some come from impoverished neighborhoods, and regardless of whether they have money or not, they possess talents. The problem is that many of them don’t have the necessary tools to display their skills.”

Upon closer inspection, you will notice that the slums are spreading, with some even creeping onto the rooftops of the mansion, their warm yellow windows peeking out from behind the domes like tiny eyes. It’s a pleasant thought that they share the same view of the sea as the wealthy residents of the palace—perhaps even a slightly better one.

“I wanted to demonstrate that people with lower incomes are just like the rich,” says Sebastian, “they can stand out despite social differences. That’s why I built their homes everywhere, even on the mansions.” Sebastian shares that he received significant support from the server Builder’S Refuge, which he describes as the best server for builders in Minecraft Bedrock available today.

“This place is incredibly welcoming,” says Sebastian, “thanks to them I was able to turn this project into a reality.”

I believe we all need a server for builders where we can support one another and share our accomplishments. Please let me know when you find a server for professionals in constructing mud block houses that only fit a single bed.

I think it’s essential for us to have a builder’s server where we can encourage each other and showcase our successes. Kindly inform me if you come across a community of experts focused on building mud block homes that accommodate just one bed.
