Insects may not be the most beloved creatures for many people. However, they are undeniably fascinating beings, especially butterflies with their stunning wings. Even spiders can be appreciated if they remain still, as seen in today’s project for Minecraft Pocket Edition: GeekBuilds’ Spawn for Creative.
The constructed design was inspired by the changing seasons. “Here in Russia, March has been very cold and unpleasant,” explains developer GeekBuilds. “So I wanted to create something warm and colorful. With spring, everything comes alive and is filled with colors – this became the foundation of my idea to create a project featuring flowers and insects.”
This project immediately captures our attention, evoking feelings of warm spring days amidst the chilly weather. Tulips and daisies sprout alongside vibrant butterfly wings that envelop the map, while a cerulean castle stands majestically.
“My favorite part of the project was being able to give the butterfly wings unique shapes and color schemes,” shares GeekBuilds. “Although it takes a lot of time, it’s truly rewarding.” Indeed, the butterflies are the most resonant elements on the map. Hovering over flowers and the castle spires, they create a sense of scale against these objects.
So why include less vibrant ants and spiders? “The idea was to incorporate a wide variety of insects that perfectly convey the essence of spring.”
“Initially, I hadn’t planned to add spiders to the project. But while working on the landscape and terrain of the map, I decided to include a small anthill. That’s when the storyline emerged: a spider killing an ant, prompting the rest of the army to seek revenge.” – the developer reveals.
A very dramatic tale! Considering that the ants are just as large as their eight-legged foe, they can punish anyone they deem necessary. Meanwhile, the butterflies gracefully float above their flowers, creating two distinct atmospheres on the map.
I suppose that’s how things work in the animal kingdom – nature can appear beautiful and serene on the surface, but there’s often something sinister lurking beneath. “A great deal of focus was placed on the spider to showcase its power and terrifying nature. It turned out wonderfully!”
“It’s also important to note that I have a strong fear of spiders, so creating such a scary one was quite challenging. I had to build its home – the web – while facing this monster.”
But what frightened me the most was the battle between the wasp and the spider. Please, GeekBuilds, no more wasps!
The construction of the insect castle took the builder a total of five days, although the entire project spanned over five years! “I often see projects that are quite simple in both concept and execution, so I wanted to create something truly impressive and elevate building in Minecraft PE to a new level.” – shares GeekBuilds.
“I wanted to share the ideas swirling in my mind!”
Only time will reveal what lies within his imagination: fierce battles or tranquility and beauty showcased in the project with Minecraft PE and its butterflies. It’s likely he will blend both aspects, crafting amazing maps with hidden struggles and enchanting beauty.
