Battle of the Titans

It’s time to test your memory, players of Minecraft! Perhaps your keen eyes and attention to detail have allowed you to remember the recently released build called Novigrad. Its creators, the Elysium Fire team, are back at it again with a new project titled “Battle of the Titans”!

Let’s delve into Greek mythology for a moment. The titans were a group of colossal gods and goddesses, offspring of the Earth Goddess and the Sky God. They are often depicted as gigantic beings that crush everything in their path while constantly battling one another. As their children matured, they became known as the Greek gods—names you might recognize include Zeus and Poseidon. Eventually, these deities, also referred to as Olympians, sought power and began waging war against the titans. This fierce conflict lasted ten years, but ultimately, the Olympians emerged victorious, imprisoning their foes in the Underworld! How thrilling!

But what if…what if the titans managed to escape?

Below, you’ll find a video we highly recommend watching. Trust us, every second spent on it is worth it!

This snippet from Greek mythology has been captured by the Elysium Fire team in Minecraft Bedrock. The titans awaken from their long, heavy slumber and surge towards the city like a massive wave, seeking vengeance. Their goal? To obliterate it into tiny fragments and devour all its inhabitants as if they were mere candy!

Most likely, the peaceful residents had no idea whose lands they were occupying. “For centuries, they lived peacefully in those regions. But one day, the titans awoke and decided to reclaim their rightful territory,” says Remy Serrano from Elysium Fire. Naturally, the only way to regain their domain was to eliminate everyone currently residing there. Clear out and destroy anything new and foreign. It’s akin to making your bed; first, you tidy up and remove any unnecessary items before settling in comfortably. That’s pretty much the same concept.

Oh, it’s truly fascinating to click back and forth, observing both the night and day views of the city. However, the most exciting part awaits you below! Be sure to check out the video!

The architecture, or rather the soon-to-be former architecture, consists of bricks—the foundation of all German castles. The team used photographs of these structures as templates. To diversify the color palette and make the buildings in Minecraft more vibrant, they incorporated other blocks as well. The castle itself is made of white sandstone, which beautifully complements the snow-covered surrounding mountains and landscapes. To add a touch of Scandinavian flair, darker shades such as oak and spruce were utilized. Hmm, this fits perfectly for a game developed in Sweden!

Within the entire build, three titans can be found. Remy described them as “guardians of these lands.” Closest to the castle stands a massive dragon adorned in white, blue, and purple hues, with fiery eyes ready to protect every wooden piece of the fortress. A bit further away lies a gigantic, terrifying worm with sharp teeth. I imagine it could easily swallow all the inhabitants in one gulp. Lastly, there’s a huge horned giant lurking somewhere behind. He would effortlessly crush anyone in his path, probably without even noticing! They truly possess the ability to devastate everything around them and restore the land to its original state within a single day. By evening, everything will likely be set! Maybe if I share some interesting facts about them, they’ll spare my life?

If you’ve cheated a little and jumped ahead to watch the video already, please don’t suggest I do the same. I’ve seen it multiple times. Well, just saying, it might be intriguing.

The project took exactly one week to complete, with five individuals working on its realization. When Elysium Fire created Novigrad, they aimed to produce an unusual and captivating video. During construction, they recorded material piece by piece, then edited it together in reverse order. It turned out as if they were dismantling the map. Amazing! The video for the new build is equally stunning and impressive. You feel as though you’re navigating through dense pine forests before arriving in the city. Each element springs to life right before your eyes. Just moments ago, there lay a massive hollow pipe, and now, it transforms into a titan—a fearsome, toothy, monstrous worm! Undoubtedly, it’s a masterpiece!

The video has a significant advantage: every detail of the Minecraft Bedrock constructions becomes far more prominent and easier to notice. You can see ships waiting in the harbor, a statue of a person on horseback in the square, and the rippling ice caused by the giant horned Titan’s movements toward the city. You may even catch a glimpse of the worm-titan’s unique feature when it raises its head from the sea to investigate what’s happening. From its toothy mouth flows a disgusting, thick green slime. It’s both mesmerizing and repulsive at the same time!

What about sharing a kiss with this adorable creature? But I have a better suggestion: watch the video instead!

The only thing that sets this build apart from many others is that the video was filmed like a movie trailer. Although, unlike a film, it doesn’t move. Still…it feels more like…? I believe utilizing skills and abilities not directly related to Minecraft Pocket Edition is an excellent way to stand out from the crowd and get people talking about you!

In any case, my plan to collaborate with these creatures seems somewhat unreliable, so I should hurry and finish writing right here. Until next time, hopefully!
