Have you always dreamed of flying? The mod “BlackHawk” allows you to do just that in the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition, as it introduces the Black Hawk helicopter, which can also be used in battles. In some ways, it resembles the Helicopter mod, but it features a cooler design along with numerous new functionalities that enhance gameplay and can significantly influence the outcome of battles in MCPE.
How does it work?
Blazes will be replaced by helicopters in Minecraft PE, and while they can only be found in the Nether, using spawn eggs might be a simpler option to generate them in the regular world of MCPE.
One of the standout features of the Black Hawk is its cargo-carrying capability, as it comes with a container that has five available slots.
- iOS / Android: Sneak up and long-press on the helicopter, then tap Open to access the inventory.
- Windows 10: Sneak up and right-click on the top of the helicopter to open the inventory.
The helicopter can only accommodate one person, the pilot. This is undoubtedly a limitation, but the developer has not yet found a solution for it.
- iOS / Android: Long-press on the helicopter and select Ride.
- Windows 10: Right-click on the helicopter.
Before you take to the skies, you’ll need to refuel. To do this, fill the tank by throwing fuel canisters (snowballs) into it. The helicopter can stay airborne in the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition for 16 seconds before it starts to descend. You can refuel while flying if you wish to extend your flight time.
Hold a diamond sword to control the helicopter!
The helicopter will automatically fire at enemies, but they must be within a radius of at least 16 blocks.

Installing BlackHawk (.mcpack)
- Download the mod labeled “.mcpack” below.
- Run the downloaded file to import the add-on/texture into MCPE.
- Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and go to world settings.
- Set the imported:
— Resource Packs for the world.
— Add-ons for the world. - Select the imported resource/add-on packs in each section.
- It is recommended to restart the Minecraft PE client afterward.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world MCPE, and enjoy the add-on!
Installing BlackHawk (.zip)
- Download the mod below.
- Extract two folders from the archive.
- Move the “Black Hawk B” folder to the /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/ folder.
- Move the “Black Hawk R” folder to the /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/ folder.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
- Create a new world or edit an existing one.
- Set the selected world with the resource pack and add-on that you previously moved to the resource_packs and behavior_packs folders.
- Done! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy the game!
