This guide is designed for players eager to learn everything about mobs. Here, I will provide information on ghasts in Minecraft PE
Ghast is classified as a hostile mob (it attacks players if they come within its line of sight).
Ghast is a large hostile mob measuring approximately 4x4x4 blocks, with an extensive attack range. It launches fireballs and resembles a jellyfish in appearance. The explosion from a fireball can ignite blocks. If the blast affects a portal to the Nether, that portal will deactivate. Upon death, a ghast emits a sound reminiscent of a choking person and drops ghast tears and gunpowder.
Ghasts can spawn anywhere in the Nether as long as there is sufficient space; they only appear on solid blocks. If the surface area is less than 5×5 blocks, spawning will not occur. They may rarely spawn near portals in the Overworld.
Ghasts fly around the Nether and produce sounds that make it seem like they are crying. These sounds can be heard equally loudly from any distance.
Ghasts can detect players from quite a distance. When attacking, the mob opens its mouth and eyes while making a noise. To avoid confrontation, players should hide behind obstacles, as a ghast will not pursue them if it loses sight.
As mentioned earlier, ghasts shoot fireballs, which can be deflected by any hit, even with a hand. Are you thinking about defeating a ghast using its own weapon? This is quite challenging since the projectile must be reflected at the correct angle.
If two flying fireballs collide, one will explode while the other will veer off in a random direction.
Here are some interesting facts:
- The size of a ghast does not correlate with its health. It requires relatively little damage to defeat.
- Even when attacking a player, a ghast does not change its flight path. In combat, a ghast might simply fly away from the player, which is quite unusual.
- If a player dies and does not respawn, the ghast will continue to fire at the corpse.
