Building a House [Part 4][Minecraft PE Guides]

Greetings, visitor of PLANET-MCPE. In this series of tutorials, I will be gradually constructing a house while taking screenshots and detailing my actions. I believe this will be quite beneficial for beginners (and perhaps others as well!). We will be building in Minecraft PE.

What did we cover in the previous part?

Currently, our task is to fill in the floor. However, this can be challenging and time-consuming. To expedite the process, I will utilize new console commands (more information can be found in the guide Console Commands in Game — 0.16.0+ [Minecraft PE Guides]).

Let’s say we want to create a sandstone floor. First, we position ourselves at one corner of the desired area:

Next, we enter the command /spawnpoint

We obtain the first coordinates. Now, let’s run to the opposite corner. We input the same command again:

Now, based on the obtained coordinates, we compile a complete command to fill the floor:

  • /fill x y-2 z(first case) x y-2 z(second case) sandstone(our chosen block)

Explanation. What does y-2 mean? It indicates the height of the floor. When entering /spawnpoint, we receive the player’s head coordinates, while the floor’s coordinates are two blocks lower. Hence, we need to decrease the Y coordinate by 2 blocks.

Thus, in creative mode, it is easy to determine the coordinates. Keep in mind that the /spawnpoint command sets the spawn point, so make sure to set it in the correct location.

Next, I decided to modify the entrance. I attempted to create an entrance mechanism using pistons, but it was too cumbersome, so you won’t see those screenshots. Instead, we’ll simply use one birch door for the entrance, which I think is the most practical option. Additionally, I placed a mat at the entrance:

As another decoration, I created glowing blocks that appear to be supported by a fence:

This concludes Part 4 of the construction. Stay tuned for upcoming parts in the guides section or in a special publication where all guides from our site are compiled!

I look forward to your suggestions and ideas in the comments.

Happy gaming!
