Victorian mansion

If you find yourself reading this for the umpteenth time, only to be interrupted by joyful exclamations and words of admiration, I sincerely apologize. It’s just that I struggle to contain my excitement when I see Paulzero’s latest creation in Minecraft, a stunning Victorian castle. In my dreams, I’ve gathered all my belongings and am waiting for a plane to take me to a place where I can reside for the rest of my days. The structure looks breathtaking from the outside and is equally captivating on the inside. Here I am again, sitting in a cozy chair beside a crackling fire, savoring a cup of hot chocolate while gazing at a lush, elegant garden…

Unfortunately, these are merely daydreams; it’s time for me to return to reality and finish writing this article. Speaking of which, the environment I’m currently in stands in stark contrast to what I’ve described earlier. Sadness and melancholy…

It looks amazing from the outside…

And even better inside. I bet it would make for a wonderful evening with close friends!

Paulzero has found his muse in castles. By constantly exploring and examining various structures, he mentally assembles his own unique designs. There are countless examples, but the most notable include the French châteaux of the Loire Valley, some German mansions from the 18th and 19th centuries, and the entire Victorian style as a whole.

Studying each castle requires considerable time, but according to Paulzero, this is one of the most crucial aspects of his work. “Before starting any project in Minecraft Bedrock, I gather as many images related to my theme as possible, analyze them, and look for details I can incorporate into my work,” he explains. “I believe that the process of combining all these elements is the most creative and exciting part.” Almost every build by Paulzero is enhanced with his ideas to ensure each one is truly unique.

“I aim not to copy anything but to develop the concept in a direction where I think it has potential for existence.”

If you gather several of Paulzero’s builds together, you’ll notice two distinctive features—attention to detail and large windows. “I always add new elements that aren’t typical of my builds.” For instance, take today’s structure: it’s surrounded by pathways, stone pavilions, and an abundance of flowers!

“Since the mansion turned out elongated, I had to balance it with a front yard. Now it visually appears more grand and filled,” Paulzero explained. Here’s a little tip: this approach is quite clever because the building becomes more streamlined, and there’s a delightful effect where man-made elements gradually blend into the natural surroundings of trees and grass.

Now we have a charming, fairy-tale castle before us. However, that wasn’t the original intention. “One of my followers asked me to create a haunted mansion in Minecraft Pocket Edition,” says Paulzero. But during the process, something went awry, and the outcome strayed far from the author’s vision. “So I decided to redo everything, and this is what you see now.”

To reconstruct the mansion, he had to replace all the dark wood with sandstone and increase its size. “I added a few more segments and a tower,” Paulzero recounts. “Additionally, to ensure all colors appeared balanced without harsh transitions, I built a garden.”

However, if you wait until nightfall, you’ll fully appreciate the castle. “When playing at night or using certain texture packs, it feels like stepping into a vast castle filled with ghosts and other eerie creatures. Overall, I managed to realize my initial idea,” the author states. I have a strange premonition; perhaps I’ll choose to stay in my tiny house after all.

Once inside, everything seems less ominous. One of Paulzero’s favorite features is the fireplace (which I also adore!) because it creates a warm atmosphere. In fact, it’s simply very cozy, and in old buildings, there was no heating, so the fireplace was the only thing that could save you from the cold weather.

Paulzero has numerous builds, some of which we’ve even featured on our site. Yet his creative journey in Minecraft doesn’t end here, as he has significant plans for the upcoming year. “I want to construct several more Victorian buildings, such as a real town hall, a shopping center, and maybe someday a church. But the next major project will be publishing my medieval city project, which I started a few years ago.”

Lastly, Paulzero is also part of the buildonis development team, which is working on creating an entire fictional world based on the 18th century. “This will take a lot of time,” he remarks.

A busy individual indeed. I hope he finds time to relax in his splendid mansion. And if fate doesn’t allow it, perhaps he could lend me the keys for a couple of months?
