Today, we will explore the creations of builder Ar4ikov, who owns a variety of islands in Minecraft Pocket Edition. While two of his constructions are not surrounded by water, they float gracefully in the air, making “skylands” perhaps the most fitting description. These captivating dioramas blend natural beauty with the core concept of the project, ranging from tiny cottages to grand castles.
Ar4ikov designs these structures with great care and dedication, ensuring that each building is unique. “Through my creativity, I often reflect my spiritual state, mood, and the weather around me, incorporating all of this into my buildings,” he shares. For instance, the two islands named Tropi Castle and Drezka Village convey a delightful atmosphere with their summer climate. “It’s my favorite season,” says Ar4ikov.
The other two constructions, known as Salfing-Settle and Lount, are considered more experimental assemblies, brought to life with the help of friends from his team.
“Salfing-Settle features several unusual mixed elements that differ significantly in meaning, such as reeds on cliffs, a mermaid, a beach volleyball court, and some wheat fields with charming houses,” he describes. Treatsoul Bastille resembles a castle adorned with impressive homes, and Ar4ikov takes pride in how everything harmonizes together. “I believe that the bastille, the houses, and the smooth rocky hills complement each other beautifully.”
His favorite island is Enchanted Settle, which boasts adorable, whimsical houses and a color palette that transitions smoothly from one hue to another, giving it a magical appearance. The structures are indeed intriguing; each house is roughly the same size as the surrounding reeds. Yet, are the houses very small or the plants exceptionally large?
Reflecting on the purpose behind these giant plants that rival the size of buildings, I’ve concluded that Ar4ikov particularly enjoys crafting the landscape aspects of every structure he works on in Minecraft. “I especially love natural objects and formations—beautiful trees, grass, mountains, hills, rocks, underwater reefs, canyons, and even what they are covered with,” he tells me.
“When I see any project, my focus is primarily on the landscape, and if it’s truly beautiful, my gaze is instantly captivated, and I can’t look away.” In my creations, you can witness this passion and connection to nature, whether it’s the Salfing Settle draped in lush greenery or the Drezka Village surrounded by vibrant forests.
Creating such wonders requires inspiration, and bringing his fantasies to life takes time, which can range from one to three days depending on complexity. Although he admits that sometimes it can take much less time if he’s undistracted and energized by an experience. “There’s a Russian saying, ‘laziness was born before you,’” he explains, noting that this phrase refers to those so lazy that even laziness arrived in this world before they did.
However, I believe that even a lazy person can create such remarkable builds, albeit taking a bit longer. Breaks during work are just as crucial as inspiration since without them, there would be no inspiration at all.
In addition to all this, Ar4ikov mentions that he works hard to gain new experiences, improve his skills, and make his builds in Minecraft Bedrock better and better. “A year ago, I took on a pirate-themed project, which was quite unusual for me and somewhat challenging, but it allowed me to grow and work on myself,” the builder explains. Compare my work from two years ago with my current build, and you’ll notice the difference at first glance.
“Every time I create a project, my skills improve, leaving doubts behind, making it easier for me to construct structures and realize my ideas as they were originally envisioned,” he states. “Next, I want to learn to craft my masterpieces using high-tech futuristic themes, as these builds would fit perfectly with my style.”
He tells me that he always wants to keep learning, never stopping for a moment. “Minecraft has given me a new chapter in my life and shown me a world that completely transformed my perception, where I can achieve everything I think about and do whatever I desire. Initially, I started building for myself, and I still do because it brings me joy, and there are no limits to realizing ideas, plus there are always areas in construction to strive for and develop in.
So, expect to see even more stunning landscapes, merging nature and structures from Ar4ikov soon. At the same time, I constantly imagine how wonderful it would be to immerse myself in the waters of Slelting Settle, relaxing while feeling the gentle waves caress me under the warm rays of the sun, possibly befriending a mermaid and enjoying the moment.
