I hope you are mindful of where you step while walking. This is particularly crucial for today’s build, as the entire structure appears quite precarious and unstable. The creators behind this project are two friends, Shannooty and Aegos. Their constructions are referred to as “pagodas,” which draw inspiration from Buddhist culture. When I gaze upon them, it feels reminiscent of Atlantis rising once more from the ocean depths. The only notable difference is the numerous chasms and empty spaces between the buildings that one could easily fall into if moving carelessly or hastily. We care about your safety, so we kindly ask you to be cautious while exploring this assembly.

Shannooty and Aegos have known each other for a long time, having attended the same school. However, their friendship deepened significantly after they began collaborating on stunning builds in Minecraft. “We’ve been building together for four or five years now, and during this time we’ve become best friends,” Aegos explains.

Inspired by the architecture of South and East Asia, Shannooty aimed to create something similar. He was particularly drawn to the unique design, where the structures seem to rest atop one another, giving an impression that they might collapse at any moment. Yet, everything is remarkably sturdy; nothing even wobbles. While Shannooty sought ideas for his builds, Aegos took a break from constructing in Minecraft Bedrock, but he was eager to return to his beloved hobby. “Shannooty came to me with a concept for a new project and wanted me to join him,” he shares.

In addition to the build itself, the duo created a video showcasing the construction process, which I must admit is incredibly engaging. The buildings rise before your eyes, roofs appear in an instant, and everything develops rapidly while clouds race overhead.

Aegos appreciates the outcome of their work, but he enjoys the process even more. “We started building from the roof and gradually shaped the structure we liked, allowing us to create a more interesting design,” he explains. “If you begin from scratch and detail as you go, it can take a very long time, and you may lose sight of the overall vision, potentially compromising the original appearance of the building.” By following this approach, they were able to realize their vision, plus such builds would be hard for anyone else to replicate.

Even though the video was produced at the last minute, it holds significant value because subtle yet beautiful details aren’t always visible in still images, like the Yin and Yang symbol located in the courtyard or the tree with pink leaves that became the finishing touch of the entire project.

If you pay close attention (around 1:43 in the video), you’ll notice that the color changed multiple times until the creators settled on the perfect shade—pink! Choosing colors has always taken me a lot of time; even among nearly identical shades, I find it challenging to decide, so I can attest that it’s a delicate and lengthy process.

This example illustrates that even the most inconspicuous details often involve immense effort and patience. Shannooty mentions that he frequently opts for wood because he finds it appealing. “Wood adds a bit of life to the build.”

Aegos and Shannooty are considering creating more magnificent builds together. However, currently, Shannooty has already embarked on a project in Minecraft, which he describes as “the largest and most intriguing project—a special habitat for the survival of the human race.” Aegos states that future collaborative efforts will depend on each of their schedules, but he admits he would love to carve out time for it. “I hope we can finally organize our time and get back to creating amazing builds.”

For now, there exists only the serene tranquility of this creation: pagodas emerging from the calm sea, and lanterns softly glowing beneath the rooftops. It’s definitely a place I would enjoy strolling through, admiring the architecture and watching the clouds drift by. I just hope I don’t get lost or accidentally tumble into the water below—at least not until I finish writing my next article.
