Chips and salsa represent a combination of flavors that can be likened to the pairing of peanut butter with chocolate or pickles with bananas (You might not believe me? I’m serious, just give it a try; I’m sure you’ll appreciate it). In addition to the national delicacy tacos, which pair wonderfully with tortillas, Cubans also have a traditional dance known as salsa. Inspired by this, a Minecraft builder megatorious recreated a couple gracefully performing the iconic Cuban dance, naming it “Crimson Waltz.” “Like most of my builds, it all started with an image already formed in my mind. I thought it was a fantastic idea and brought it to life,” explains the creator. He favors organic elements in his constructions, but according to him, defining his style precisely is quite challenging.

“I can’t really say if I have a style or not. I simply create whatever appeals to me, even if it’s something entirely new. I challenge my skills and do things I’ve never done before.” This feels very much like dance, and I also envision a shoe brand here, though I can’t pinpoint which one. The creator of this build is not a dancer. He is a 15-year-old student from a senior high school in Sweden who constructs for the group Blockworks.

“Organic details offer far more creative freedom than structural elements. And that’s wonderful because it allows for emotional expression.” I completely agree with him. Just look at how skillfully he conveys the energy and liveliness of this pair! The flowing dress of the girl, made from red blocks, adds a sense of lightness to the dance. How many hours of work are hidden behind each detail! “The most challenging part of this construction was creating the right body shapes. I reworked the boy’s figure multiple times, adjusting the legs and striving for maximum realism.” The eternal dilemma of dancing: you never know where to place your feet without stepping on your partner’s toes. I still feel embarrassed about the waltz at my graduation.

Creating the surrounding vegetation turned out to be the easiest part. “Everything here is incredibly straightforward. I didn’t have to select individual elements; it was enough to create templates and then duplicate them, adjusting for each plant. Gradually, I got used to it, and my pace quickened. I even learned to enhance the coloring of blocks using masks and brushes.” The tools in Minecraft Bedrock are extremely helpful in construction, but there’s another aspect that shouldn’t be overlooked. “Never hesitate to seek feedback from your friends or fellow builders.”
