Available on Xbox One, Windows 10 Edition, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch!
Let’s take a moment to travel back in time, to an era when the world was pure and innocent. I’m referring to just a few days ago when we published an article about the new textures for Minecraft: Java Edition that you may have already experienced by then.
At that time, we mentioned that the update wasn’t available on all platforms and promised to inform you as soon as it became possible to download them on Bedrock. And now, at long last, I, an old-timer who remembers those times (which were just this week), am thrilled to share this fantastic news: the textures are now accessible for the Bedrock version! Hooray! It makes my body want to move to music in strange convulsions, though my back seems to disagree with such spontaneous actions.
Here’s a brief guide illustrated with images below on how to download the texture pack for Xbox One, Windows 10 Edition, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch!
[1/4] – First, you need to install Minecraft Pocket Edition on your device, then head to the main menu and click on “Store”.
[2/4] – Now you’re in the Minecraft Marketplace. I understand the temptation, but try to stay focused and ignore the “Robin Hood” pack; that’s not what we need right now. Select “Textures” from the menu.
[3/4] – Scroll through all these wonderful texture packs until you find the coveted “Minecraft Texture Update Beta.” That’s the one we want, so select it!
[4/4] – Finally, just hit download. That’s it! You can now enjoy playing with the new, visually pleasing textures!
Do you think that being available on all platforms is the only highlight of this pack? While it’s undoubtedly a cool aspect of the update, I’m excited to tell you there’s more! Another amazing thing I’d like to share again is the interview with the artist and creator of these textures, Jasper Burström, who happens to be a pixel artist at Mojang and a great friend of mine!
This is Jasper’s face when he reads that I’ve called him my great friend.
The author has invested considerable effort and time into achieving such remarkable results in his work on the textures for Minecraft Bedrock. We’ve previously shared insights into how this creation came to life, how to personally reach out to the designer, what he prefers in textures, and why some of them will never be changed. To read this engaging interview filled with witty jokes and enjoy the dialogue between two intellectuals, click on this blue text. To give you an idea of what to expect, here’s a preview:
Now, I encourage you to go and try out the new textures if you haven’t done so already!
