Minecraft changes from Cobalt

Mojang is not just a collection of incredibly charming and talented individuals who develop Minecraft; they also release games! Back in 2016, they launched the fantastic robo-blastin’ RPG, Cobalt. Today, we are thrilled to announce the release of its amazing standalone multiplayer sequel: Cobalt WASD.

To celebrate the launch of this wonderful game (which coincides with a major update for the original), the great team at Oxeye Game Studio has created a special texture pack called Minecrafty, allowing Cobalt players to design their own levels!

Check it out! Wow!

So what exactly is Cobalt: WASD?
It’s a 2D team-based game featuring explosions that freeze time.
Two teams of delightful, tumbling robots engage in rounds where one side attempts to plant and detonate bombs on the opposing team’s base while the other side, quite wisely, tries to thwart them. In each round, money is earned that can be spent on unique gear. Slip into an invisibility suit to sneak past enemy defenders or dive right into the fray, dazzlingly deflecting shots with a reflector screen. Or toss a timed bomb into a pit and watch as the bots explode in a beautifully choreographed slow-motion ballet! Here’s the trailer!

Sticky clocks! Teleportation devices! Radioactive crossbows! Hooks! Holographic floating boxes! Jet boots! Healing pumps! So much more.

This super-fast fun requires high skill levels and offers an incredible array of possible strategies—made even more entertaining by support for maps and mods via Steam Workshop. Designed specifically for PC, Cobalt WASD features dedicated servers, a gazillion camera settings, a native resolution of 1920×1080, and can even run at 1000 frames per second—all things that computer gamers adore!

The price is €6.99, but those who were alpha testers for the original Cobalt will receive it for free!

As mentioned earlier, the community has also released a significant update for the predecessor, Cobalt, which includes map and mod support. The pricing has been updated too! We’re just waiting for Steam to confirm the price change to €15. After that, you’ll be able to purchase it bundled with Cobalt WASD for €19.99.
