We haven’t discussed this before, but now is the right moment. The development of MCPE 0.15.0 continues. In fact, the developers have released versions 1 and 2 so that we can test the new feature in MCPE — Realms, as soon as possible.
This is why you didn’t see the anticipated updates in Minecraft Pocket Edition upon its release.
Recently, Thomas shared an intriguing image on his Twitter page showcasing world generation. While the image may not provide much clarity, according to Thomas, his attempt to create a Minecraft PE world with a height of 256 blocks was unsuccessful; it was merely Tommy’s first try at that time.
Just a few days later, Thomas shared another screenshot, quoting: Well, I must say, I’m sure it’s quite cool at the top of 391 blocks.
In the screenshot below, you can see a view of the world from the highest vantage point. We can confidently state that Thomas has indeed managed to create a world with a height of 256 blocks, if not more.
However, a world with a height of 391 blocks will not be implemented in MCPE due to the significant device resources required. Regarding the 256-block high world, generating and rendering it will also demand considerable resources. Therefore, we hope that the developers will add an option in the settings of MCPE to choose the world generation height.
Alternatively, we will wait and hope for good game optimization.
