A flower has once again made its way into the inventory, and do you know what that means? It’s time to share with you the latest and most beautiful bloom in Minecraft (yes, just like in that instance, as well as this, and the other too)! I’ve tried so many times to convince you of the beauty of various flowers, but today is going to be the hardest day for me to do so. However, this particular flower truly doesn’t need any promotion, as it stands out as the proudest and noblest flower in Minecraft. It’s the onion.
It was introduced to the game in 2013 during the update of Java 1.7.2, alongside the acacia tree and stained glass. The allium is one of the rarest flowers in Minecraft Bedrock, found exclusively in a single biome—the flower forest. However, there are exceptions; in very rare instances, allium seeds can be discovered in woodland mansions and may sprout there.
The allium is characterized by tall flowers, primarily consisting of a slender stem topped with a stunning purple spherical crown. If you’re looking to enhance your home in Minecraft Pocket Edition with alliums, the ideal choice would be to plant them in orange pots placed along green or pink carpets. However, if you prefer a more simplistic style and wish to impress your friends, consider planting alliums in a white or gray room. The minimalist aesthetic is sure to captivate even those who favor bold and eccentric color combinations.
Can onions be used as a decorative element? Certainly, they can serve to dye items. By grinding the colors, you will obtain a purple dye. Additionally, you might consider adding onions to a dubious stew along with mushrooms. Consuming such a dish will grant your character a special effect. In the worst-case scenario, if you’ve accumulated an entire chest of onions, have no use for the purple dye, and your character is already fed up with that stew, you could compost the onions. However, I believe this would be the most disgraceful fate for such a magnificent flower!
In the natural world, bulbous plants encompass more than just onions. This is a diverse group that includes hundreds of different species such as onion, garlic, shallots, leeks, and elephant garlic (yes, I was surprised too). Additionally, among bulbous plants, there are not only safe varieties but also some that are toxic. They originate from the temperate climate of the Northern Hemisphere, yet they are now cultivated globally.
Bulbs in Minecraft appear to be largely inspired by Allium giganteum, commonly known as the “giant onion.” This ornamental plant primarily grows in various Asian countries, including Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The giant onion features a large globe at the top of its stem, making it an excellent choice for floral arrangements. However, if you decide to use it as home decor, be aware that it can be toxic to pets like cats and dogs.
In summary, aside from the potential poisoning risks to pets, we can conclude once again that onions are among the best flowers in Minecraft… well, they certainly stand as worthy contenders against other blooms in the game. Overall, not much has changed…
