An update is set to be released soon for Minecraft Bedrock on platforms such as Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Android, iOS, Gear VR, and Windows 10, featuring the long-awaited foxes, a wither rose, and some suspicious stew!
To celebrate this occasion, we decided to have a chat with the creator of the foxes, Kory Sheviak, along with their designer Johan Aronson.
Why foxes specifically?
“We offered users a wide range of options in Minecraft, yet they ultimately chose the foxes. During my time at the creators’ convention, it was clear that those around me were only interested in the fact that I was the creator of these foxes. You should have seen their reactions to this!”
A tremendous amount of effort went into creating the fox, as the authors aimed to make it as realistic as possible.
“Every morning, I spent my time observing the behavior of foxes. It was essential for me to learn how they leap, move, and generally conduct themselves. Additionally, I read nearly everything I could find about foxes online. I was also fortunate enough to come across a video showing a fox incubating its eggs, which means that the foxes in the world of Minecraft can do this too!” Players of Minecraft Bedrock will have fun with new mobs that… might raid chicken coops?!
