Welcome to the second edition of our block assembly series. Each week, we select a specific building block and showcase what can be created with it. By examining user creations in Minecraft, we analyze how this block can be utilized effectively and explore its potential contributions to gameplay.
This time, we’re focusing on terracotta. There are several ways to obtain it. Uncolored terracotta can be found in village houses located in plains, savannas, and desert biomes. However, finding naturally occurring colored terracotta requires some diligent searching, as it’s quite rare. The best places to look are around villages, where your chances of discovery are highest.
For those who prefer mining, we suggest bringing a pickaxe and heading to barren lands rich in natural resources. Alternatively, if you want to go the traditional route, consider digging up clay.
You can construct your house entirely from terracotta blocks. In fact, there are even biomes where such a home would look stunning. Where the abundance of monochromatic terracotta is overwhelming, consider adding some color. Uniquely painted terracotta structures will beautifully enhance your world!
Another component in terracotta builds is quartz. Start by building the walls, add glass windows, and then raise majestic quartz columns. Once the renovations are complete, you can confidently host aristocratic balls reminiscent of the 19th century or simply throw parties with your friends.
Glazed terracotta presents exciting opportunities for creating your own design. You can craft intricate and elaborate structures that will impress visitors with their quality and detail, or you might simply arrange the glazed terracotta in a random fashion and declare, “This is my brilliant creation.” It’s an art form!
When the Minecraft community was invited to build creations using terracotta, they eagerly embraced the challenge and produced stunning masterpieces like these:
