Minecraft PE is continually evolving—not just as a game, but also through the community that plays it. We are often amazed by the creativity of MCPE players who construct seemingly impossible structures on a daily basis.
To celebrate this, the Minecraft Pocket Edition community invited some of the most talented building teams to contribute to a single map creation. You voted on what they would create, and we have reached the final team of builders! Soon, you will be able to download the completed map that incorporates everything built, so stay tuned for updates in the new year!
Last time, Deep Academy took on a futuristic theme with a mirrored dystopia and a utopian tower! This week, we challenged the incredible team from NewRise to build around a winter theme—just as you chose!
Check out the video at the end of the article and the interview below to see how they tackled the challenge! Thank you for voting and participating in this fun campaign.
While many building teams are formed by recruiting top-tier builders and artisans, NewRise emerged organically from friendships developed during gameplay in Minecraft PE.
“Throughout our team’s journey, we’ve experimented with various styles and themes for our maps,” says team member Yugo. “We’ve created some massive and epic builds that could only be realized in MCPE, but we’ve also tried our hand at realistic constructions inspired by real civilizations. One project we’re particularly proud of is our map Thanasys, a gigantic city with a Greek name that took us six months to build. It was an incredible endeavor to create a city that looks very realistic and can be used by players in survival mode. You don’t need to fly (in creative mode) to explore the map properly, and you can enter every house, unlike many other construction maps.”
But what about their involvement in the Forever Building project? How did they choose to interpret the winter theme?
“We decided to depict a frozen fountain because it truly showcases how beautiful harsh winter can be,” Yugo explains. “We spent a lot of time figuring out how to create a structure that rises upward like a flower reaching for the sun.”
NewRise primarily builds for their own enjoyment rather than for recognition. “We stopped trying to impress a while ago,” Yugo shares. “Now we simply work on projects we want to create, such as builds inspired by Harry Potter.” However, according to Yugo, their passion for creating cool things in Minecraft Pocket Edition remains strong. Keep an eye on their Planet Minecraft page to see for yourself!
Once again, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the building teams that participated in this project and to everyone who voted! Perhaps you’ll see “Forever Building” in the new year!
