A vast number of players in Minecraft are busy creating maps, mods, skins, textures, and various other add-ons. While some of these creations go unnoticed, others make their way to marketplaces like the Minecraft Marketplace. Each week, a significant amount of game expansions is released there, all crafted by talented members of the gaming community. According to our estimates, 283 new maps and skin packs were added in August alone. These figures reflect the hard work of all builders involved. I believe that every creation deserves recognition, but users simply cannot test every map, mod, and additional content available.
For such purposes, there is a dedicated content selection team. Each month, these diligent individuals explore a vast array of maps and test various skins. They then select three maps or skins to share with fellow players. It’s essential for the team to highlight the advantages of each map/skin compared to others. Once the selections are made, benefits outlined, and the article prepared, we present the “cream” of market culture to users of Minecraft Bedrock!
Dragon City
Creator: Cyclone Designs
This map features ninjas and robots! If that isn’t enough to convince you of its epicness, how about we add pirates to the mix? Welcome to Dragon City! This is the home of the ninja clan, a group of spies, tricksters, and assassins. Your mission is to protect the innocent from them (why should players take on this role? Because ninjas are the villains here, and we assume that you, dear readers, are the heroes. After all, only good people play Minecraft. I hope you won’t destroy my dream world). To defeat the clan, you’ll need to navigate through various levels, collecting parts for powerful weapons along the way. These weapons are essential for taking down those dark criminals dressed in pajamas.
One of the developers of Minecraft Bedrock, Sarah, aimed to eliminate a ninja clan after successfully completing rigorous training levels that ensured her total success in eradicating the pajama ninja clan. Here’s what she shares:
“A significant portion of today’s society is optimistic and anticipates that robots will soon integrate into our lives, taking on various responsibilities. Now, imagine this concept set in a city rich with its own traditions, culture, and architecture. Additionally, let’s add deadly ninjas and dragons to the mix. To defeat them, I embarked on training, starting my journey in the City of Dragons. In the dojo (a place where people in Japan engage in meditation and other spiritual practices; ‘dojo’ translates to ‘place of seeking the way’), I began my studies from the very basics under the guidance of Master Kondo. Before long, I had acquired most of the essential skills and felt completely confident as I learned to throw shurikens and wield the legendary katana, striking down foes.
Immersed in a highly detailed environment filled with vibrant colors and a custom soundtrack, I found that the primary threats came from ninjas and drones lurking around corners. Whenever I let my guard down, they would launch attacks, often leading to my demise. I also made sure to take some well-deserved breaks, visiting cozy urban gardens and volunteering at a hospital (all of this unfolded on the map). Recycling bottles had never been so engaging for me. Throughout my time navigating this map, I never felt alone. My loyal companion bot was always by my side, assisting me during critical moments.
It’s likely that I’ve watched numerous films where artificial intelligence integrates into society and begins to wreak havoc, subjugating humanity and all living beings on our planet. I prefer to postpone the incorporation of robots into our lives and handle certain tasks myself: it feels much safer this way.
Trickster’s Dreamland
Creators: Everbloom Studios
Have you ever experienced feverish dreams where you found yourself in the most bizarre, absurd situations, trying to solve nearly impossible challenges? If so, while navigating through the map “Trickster’s Dreamland,” you will likely feel a sense of déjà vu. The creator has perfected the sensation people encounter in such dreams, pushing it to its utmost absurdity. Once you enter this map, you’ll need to traverse 30 peculiar dreams filled with entertaining dialogue and incredibly fast-paced gameplay. This is a single-player map, but I assure you, as you play, you won’t even think about being alone.Feedback from the content team regarding the Minecraft Pocket Edition map featuring absurd dreams:
“The endeavor to mimic the concept of dreams has captivated artists throughout history. They have sought to create works that seem free from the constraints of rational thought. Surrealists intentionally crafted nonsensical films that critics struggled to interpret, while Dadaists randomly cut newspaper headlines into verses with a similar effect. Now, the map ‘Trickster’s Dreamland’ enters this artistic arena.
While some sections draw inspiration from more common dream scenarios, the most striking sequence emerges around the midpoint of the second part. Initially, you will take on the role of a judge in a mustache contest. You’ll need to evaluate three villagers, each sporting different facial hair styles, and select a winner based on what criteria? Likely, it’s sheer absurdity. The other two villagers fall into a trapdoor and vanish from our sight forever. What awaits them? Apparently, they are left to the whims of the game Minecraft, but in reality, we may never find out. In the next segment, ‘human competition’ takes center stage. Here, the narrative accelerates dramatically. You become a contestant, facing off against two enormous mustaches perched upon even larger thrones. They will decide who is the ‘person of the century’…”
I’ve certainly had all sorts of dreams, but my subconscious has never ventured this far. I hope it stays away from such thoughts. The idea of enormous mustaches judging humanity shatters my perception of this world…
Jungle Explorer
Creators: 4J Studios
Capturing nature and wildlife, casually exploring ancient sites, the remains of our ancestors, and extinct organisms might seem like a relaxing pastime perfect for a Sunday afternoon. However, the map “Jungle Explorer” is anything but a leisurely activity. It’s a journey into the deep jungles of the Minecraft Bedrock world, filled with devilish traps that have been lying in wait for centuries, ready to spring at any moment and snatch away curious adventurers. There’s no relaxation here; these are true hardcore jungles where every step could be your last.Discover ancient tombs shrouded in mystery, observe perilous creatures like jaguars and piranhas, capture their essence through photography, and engage in an epic showdown with formidable bosses! Death could be lurking behind every bush. It may sound eerie, but there’s no chance of boredom.
Sara from the content team tried out this game and shared her insights:
“I belong to the type of players who enjoy exploring new things. I dream of embarking on an expedition to untamed places, which is why this map resonates deeply with my interests. I loved not just wandering through unfamiliar areas but truly immersing myself in them, uncovering hidden pathways and discovering tombs to learn their secrets. It was especially thrilling when additional challenges arose. The variety of movement methods added to the excitement as well. At first, I walked, then leaped across treetops, paddled a boat while trying to avoid encounters with terrifying monsters lurking in the deep rivers and lakes of the jungle. I even got to ride roller coasters on this map!
The map consists of intricate puzzles, with each location representing a piece of the whole. This structure complicates the map, but who said that complexity equates to dullness? In some areas, the riddles are particularly convoluted, yet as you unravel this vast web of mysteries, a sense of satisfaction emerges. In the jungle, you’re not alone; insects crawl around, and various animals typical of the region scurry about. As a huge insect enthusiast, I was thrilled to encounter all these creatures. My favorite feature of this map is the ability to photograph the insects, animals, and indeed the entire surrounding world encountered along the way. This allows players to create their own collection of wildlife photographs from the jungle. I think this can be seen as an additional quest: you need to visit as many locations as possible to find different species of animals and capture their images. At least, to satisfy my inner perfectionist and nature lover, I traveled extensively across this map in search of the extraordinary!”
The film enthusiast within me has awakened once again, and I recalled the movie “Indiana Jones.” The description of this map closely resembles the depiction of the wild in that film.
This trio of maps is just a glimpse into the collection available on the Minecraft Marketplace. Due to limitations with these three selections, many truly remarkable options didn’t make our top list. Therefore, be sure to check out the rest of the maps as well. You can find them here.
