Trident (Weapon)

The trident is classified as a ranged weapon. It was introduced in version 1.4 of the game. To acquire a trident, you must defeat a drowned enemy that wields this weapon. The drop rate is 15%.

Combat Usage (Melee and Ranged)

If you plan to strike an opponent with the trident at close range, they can take damage amounting to 9 points (equivalent to 4.5 hearts). When used for a ranged attack, the damage will be 8 points (or 4 hearts).

When using the trident for melee attacks, its durability may decrease by 1 point. Additionally, if the weapon is used for ranged attacks, an opponent can block it with a shield.

Enchanting

In Minecraft, several enchantments are available for the trident:

• repairing the trident will enhance its durability through gained experience;
• with the Impaling enchantment, you can increase damage dealt to aquatic mobs;
• Loyalty enables the trident to return to the player’s hand after each strike;
• The weapon’s durability may be reduced with a slight chance immediately following an attack;
• By utilizing the “Riptide” enchantment, players can propel themselves forward with the trident after throwing it (this only works in water or during rain);
• Additionally, the Thunderer allows for lightning strikes on enemies when the trident hits them (this effect is active only during thunderstorms).

Repairing the Weapon

The trident can be repaired using three different methods:

1. Utilizing the appropriate enchantment “Mending”. This method can only be applied if the character possesses sufficient experience.
2. By combining items at a crafting table. In this case, two tridents are used, and their durability will be combined after repair.
3. Through forging on an anvil. This is the simplest and most effective technique.
