Today, we introduce you to the remarkable creation Arcanum by builder Mydelko, which can only be described as an engineering marvel! The entire city is elevated on soft, rolling tracks that allow it to move from one location to another in Minecraft PE. This home is perfect for those who crave adventure but don’t want to give up the comforts of home. What do you mean I can’t take my TV, favorite chair, and beloved gorilla on a plane? Well, someone has built me a true Arcanum.
A city that can easily vacate areas threatened by armies or catastrophic events undoubtedly serves as a valuable asset in preventing damage to buildings and lives; however, this also presents unique challenges in its construction. “Building such a city requires significant effort,” says Mydelko. “It feels like playing a strategy game where you are the ruler responsible for everything. Moreover, it’s a moving city that allows you to create entirely new mechanisms to tackle various issues.”
Despite the complexities involved in such a project, Mydelko is a spontaneous creator in Minecraft PE. “Whenever inspiration struck, I’d grab a sheet of paper and pencil to sketch some ideas, but I managed to produce only a few drafts.”
Instead, he dove straight into building. “It felt like whenever I had an idea, I needed to bring it to life immediately. I’m not the type to waste time on projects and templates; instead, I jump right into construction, brimming with ideas and motivation.”
This approach certainly works for him! “I take great pride in the lower parts of the city, which were the most challenging to construct, as well as the cleanliness effect—something that was stuck in my mind before I even started building,” he shares. Below, there are track trails that are crucial since they serve as the main mechanism for transporting the city around. “I had to think a lot about the height of the vehicle,” explains Mydelko.
He also enjoys the details that enhance the realism of the city in Minecraft Pocket Edition, making it feel like a place where people could live and travel between different locations. “I added pathways with lamps, small gardens featuring various plants, and even a sewage system!” he states. “Additionally, the castle located at the back of the city posed a challenge that I believe was resolved quite well.”
Overall, the structure spans over 500 blocks in length, providing ample real estate for anyone looking to relocate. It will undoubtedly make a fantastic living space thanks to Mydelko’s steampunk theme.
This is a theme he has utilized in many of his creations, including another city called Skiphold, a ship, and even a giant mechanical horse. “Steampunk is a genre that’s really trendy these days, and many artists are starting to focus on it,” he tells me, expressing how much he appreciates the freedom it offers for experimentation in MCPE.
“This genre seems to have limitless potential because it encompasses dozens of subgenres.” He particularly enjoys that he can draw inspiration from any time period. “It could be the future, the past, or even a parallel universe.”
“Minecraft Pocket Edition is more than just blocks,” he remarks fondly. “I realized that my little steampunk machine transformed into a colossal, moving city that I once dreamed of.”
