The Colosseum, impressive aqueducts, marble walls and mosaics, along with statues that are quite revealing! Despite the abundance of captivating structures, they excelled in another area as well!

In a world plagued by unsanitary conditions, grim living, and constant arena battles, baths became an essential part of urban life. Thus, they provided a delightful retreat for weary gladiators returning from combat. What does the author think about this?
“Haha, who wouldn’t want to unwind after fighting for their life?”.
Shaliquinn is one of the most skilled creators in the realm of Minecraft Pocket Edition, collaborating with various teams. Many users of Minecraft PE may be familiar with her work. You might also recognize her name from the map Lunar Love, which she created. However, her most significant achievement is the Roman bathhouse project, where she designed bathing complexes inspired by the Roman Empire.
The creator stands out for frequently incorporating diverse styles in her constructions. A freelance builder’s role involves taking commissions and executing them within the realms of Minecraft PE.
“Flexibility is one of the key traits of any creator working on varied projects. I spent a lot of time exploring different styles that I had never used before. And that’s perhaps the best aspect of my job, as I wouldn’t have tried such diversity on my own,” explains the developer.
“When it comes to my favorite things, I have a strong affinity for organic creations. Such works truly inspire me, even without any expectation of reward. This is what should come to life”.
If there’s such a thing as stylish bathing, the Romans certainly mastered it. Citizens of the Roman Empire could gather freely in steam rooms—public baths adorned with stunning decorations like sculptures or murals.
Baths served not only as places for cleansing but also as venues for social and political discussions.
However, Shaliquinn‘s project is more than just a bath filled with water. Despite its name, the project features a vast arena.
“It might sound dull, but my client requested a Roman bath with a large arena. It all needed to fit together seamlessly. In reality, combining these two elements was quite easy. I believe that structures find their place once you grasp the specific theme,” she shares.
This unique amphitheater boasts truly enormous dimensions. Thrill-seekers will encounter two centurion statues guarding the arena. Once you ascend the marble steps, you can take a seat anywhere and enjoy the bloody battles of gladiators.
“When you’re working with a very limited space, it’s challenging to impart grandeur to your creations. My task is to divert observers’ attention from the size of the structure and focus it on the intricate details. Therefore, I had to strike a balance between forms and sizes so that people could enjoy watching the events unfold in the arena,” the author explains.
The build captures the essence and aesthetics of Roman culture, which the author genuinely enjoys. “I’m drawn not only to the spirit of the Roman Empire; I’m inspired by any architecture featuring ornamentation and heightened detail. I’ve often spent time studying Roman, Gothic, or Japanese themes.”
Creating an atmosphere isn’t the only goal Shaliquinn set for herself. It’s equally important to give the baths a certain shine. “I needed to create lighting that would produce the desired effect. First, I placed underwater lights throughout the area. Then I experimented with several layers of glass to achieve a misty quality in the water. This way, the water gained depth while maintaining illumination.” 
Unfortunately, spa days can’t last forever unless you want to end up looking like a raisin! So our author continues to move forward and explore new artistic avenues.
“I really enjoy diverse creative ideas that have never appeared before. Such things show special attention to the tiniest details. Lighting is also crucial—it’s disappointing when a project falls short due to insufficient light,” the author elaborates.
