Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.14 is just around the corner. Soon, every player of Minecraft PE will be able to download the new update MCPE 0.14, featuring exciting new additions that we eagerly anticipate. We have prepared a brief article highlighting the main features in Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.14.
Maps
At last, with version Minecraft PE 0.14, maps will make their debut in the game, as confirmed by a screenshot shared by Mojang developer Thomas. He showcased an image where he was holding a map. At that time, the map was still under development, but significant progress had already been made. Here’s a small GIF showing how the map will function and appear.
- Exclusive for the pocket edition: The map can be enhanced using an anvil instead of a crafting table.
Dyeing Leather Armor
Jason Major revealed an amazing feature he has been working on for the Pocket Edition. Now, players will have the ability to dye armor using various dyes.
This means you can customize “Steve’s outfit” to your liking since each piece of armor can be dyed different colors.
World Importing
Thomas tweeted: “Guess what this beautiful and unexpected button does?“. It’s not hard to guess – it’s the button for importing worlds directly through the Minecraft Pocket Edition client.
Now, there’s no need to move downloaded maps to “/games/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds“, as everything can be done within the game itself.
Texture Support
A screenshot of the main menu of Minecraft Pocket Edition has surfaced, showcasing a revamped interface. With version Minecraft PE 0.14, it seems likely that players will be able to install textures without leaving the MCPE client.
All your textures will be imported into the Minecraft PE menu, allowing you to switch to any texture at any moment.
Slime Block
The slime block will finally be introduced in Minecraft PE 0.14, generated exclusively in swamp biomes.
The slime block slows down player movement similar to soul sand. However, its unique feature is that it acts like a trampoline. The higher you fall from, the higher you bounce back up. For instance, jumping from a height of 255 blocks will propel you 50 blocks upwards, while falling from 50 blocks will yield a bounce of 22 blocks.

Dispensers
Graphics demonstrating the functionality of dispensers have emerged, which release arrows when activated by a pressure plate. The dispenser operates via a Redstone mechanism. A red wire runs from the pressure plate to the dispenser, activating it to shoot arrows while standing on the plate. This feature is expected to be included in Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.14.
Minecart with Chest, Hopper, and TNT
In addition to riding in minecarts yourself, you’ll now be able to transport blocks of TNT, chests, hoppers, and possibly furnaces. This provides an excellent way to transport essential resources to mines using minecarts along tracks.
- TNT activates with powered rails and explodes four seconds after activation. If two minecarts collide at speed, instant detonation occurs. After the explosion, the minecart remains intact.
The explosion of a TNT minecart does not destroy the track beneath it or the blocks it passes over.
- The hopper minecart will instantly collect items lying on the tracks (but not shot arrows) and items in containers above it, one item at a time, loading approximately one stack in about 12 seconds.
- To use the chest minecart, place it in the world on any type of rail. Right-clicking on the chest minecart opens a storage interface with 27 slots, identical to that of a regular chest.
Pumpkins Wearable on Heads
In early December, Jason Major shared an intriguing screenshot showing a pumpkin worn on a character’s head. The distinctive cutouts in the image confirm this fact.
Just a few days later, Jason posted another tweet featuring a creeper head placed on him, alongside several other mob heads, including Steve’s. As you might have guessed, starting from version 0.14, players will be able to wear the heads of various mobs, including pumpkins.
Loading Hoppers
Another fantastic addition to Minecraft Pocket Edition will be hoppers. With hoppers, you can easily transfer necessary items into chests and furnaces, making gameplay more convenient. Here’s an example of how this will work.
Witches and Their Huts
Witches will spawn in areas with light levels of 7 or lower on solid blocks. You may also encounter witches in witch huts located in swamps. Additionally, any villager can turn into a witch if struck by lightning within 3-4 blocks.
A witch resembles a pale villager with a wart on her nose and wears purple and green clothing along with a tall black hat adorned with a green buckle.
You can find the Witch Hut in the swamp, as previously mentioned.
Collar Dyeing
Players will now have the option to dye their pet dogs’ collars in Minecraft PE, helping to keep track of their names. You can dye collars using various dyes.
Frogs
Jason Major announced that frogs will soon inhabit the swamps in Minecraft PE. What can be done with them is yet to be revealed.
Zombie Children Riding Animals
Additionally, Jason worked on implementing the feature where baby zombies can ride animals.
