If there were someone like me to offer advice to a person like you, it would be a reminder to respect your elders! Especially if they are anything like me. But you must also show respect to the Ancient Guardians!
These fellows won’t just hit you on the head; they’ll be in such a foul mood that they might blast you with their ancient laser beam and then toss you out of their underwater realm, sending you into retirement! Don’t say you weren’t warned if that happens!
You may already be familiar with the regular Guardian, which is a young and quite cheeky fish that shoots lasers exceptionally well.
Now, we’re dealing with elder beings that are much larger than two aquatic creatures! They are massive, remember!
I wanted the pyramid to resemble a maze, so I needed to figure out how to access the treasure, where bad turns into good! Think about how everything can be rebuilt in Minecraft Pocket Edition!
Thus, the solution was to create a path for myself. I didn’t want the pyramid to be indestructible because that wouldn’t be fun in Minecraft PE.
After brainstorming several ideas, we decided to introduce the Boss – the Elder Guardian, who possesses a spell effect that slows down the entire world!
This is why the Ancient Guardian was added to Minecraft; it would be fantastic if it could also appear on the MCPE platform! Essentially, this guardian is a stronger version and has a fierce curse ability that can significantly affect you in Minecraft PE!
The reason this mob was introduced was to showcase the slowing effect and its origin. I didn’t want to merely add an effect; I wanted to present the mob as well.
So, I made intentional changes to the game; would you like to see this ghost appear before you?
It’s truly amazing since another player can also witness the effect that spreads onto you! You’ll notice a screen effect that sometimes manifests. This occurrence isn’t frequent, but it does exist!
Yikes! These guys only spawn in underwater fortresses or other structures, as well as in submerged areas! They are more powerful than the heralds and are limited in number. This is because they spawn when oceanic buildings, like fortresses, are created; you can always find three creatures in each one. They never respawn after death.
They drop prismarine shards and prismarine crystals, and don’t forget raw fish (or cooked if you somehow managed to burn the Elder Guardian to death), and maybe a sea sponge, perhaps on the MCPE?
Or you know, they might not drop anything at all, as that’s life.
For the most part, ancient guardians have similar effects as regular Guardians. They possess terrifying laser beams and spiky bodies that can easily poke you (you should try hugging these guys, I assure you), and they tend to be quite grumpy. They don’t swim around aimlessly, but unlike the herald, the Guardian won’t retreat from a player if approached.
