The concept of the mod “Vindication Villager” originates from “One Command Block – Vindicator Villager” in Minecraft: Java Edition. The Vindicator will be replaced by a defender villager, whose behavior will be entirely different from the original. Their primary mission is to protect the villagers by assisting them in battling monsters in Minecraft PE.
How does it work?
Villagers can now be trained to become defender villagers by giving them an iron axe.
- Windows 10: Hold the iron axe and right-click on a villager to train them.
- iOS / Android: Hold the iron axe, long-press on the villager, and tap the “Train” button to train them.
Unlike Iron Golems, which are quite challenging to create, you only need an Iron Axe to train a villager. Crafting an iron axe requires just 2 sticks and 3 iron ingots, while an iron golem needs 3 iron blocks (equivalent to 27 iron ingots) and a pumpkin to build. If you lack abundant resources but need to defend your village from threats, you can simply use the iron axe to train a villager in MCPE.
Once a regular villager becomes a defender villager in Minecraft PE, they will start protecting the village.
They possess the same stats as their original counterparts:
- Health: 24
- Attack Damage: 13
- Weapon: Iron Axe
It is important to note that the defender villager is a neutral mob in Minecraft Pocket Edition. If you attack them or any villagers, they will retaliate.
If they are killed by any of the following mobs: Zombie, Drowned, Zombie Villager, or Zombified Piglin, they have a chance to turn into Zombie Villagers. These are similar to regular villagers in Minecraft Pocket Edition, but once they become zombie villagers, their profession will be randomized. They can become farmers, librarians, blacksmiths, or butchers.
If struck by lightning, they will transform into witches, similar to regular villagers.
