A minor yet effective utility modification designed for my personal modpack, known as “RedPack 1.20.1”, is called RedPack Utils. This mod, crafted primarily for my own modpacks, encompasses an assortment of tweaks and features that I either couldn’t locate existing mods for or preferred not to fill my game with various small mods to accomplish the same things. The source code is available for anyone interested, allowing the freedom to utilize, adapt, or extract elements for personal projects. If you do incorporate any of the code, credit is not necessary as it mainly consists of mixins and utilizes Minecraft’s built-in capabilities, although recognition is always appreciated.
Unique Blocks
Rainbow Beacon: This interesting block functions like stained glass, altering beacon beams to various colors. However, unlike stained glass, the Rainbow Beacon continuously cycles through a spectrum of hues. You can find it under the “Functional Blocks” category.
Command Restorations
This feature reinstates the brief game mode commands such as /gamemode 0, 1, 2, 3, instead of the lengthy versions like /gamemode survival, creative, etc. (Muscle memory is real! One has to wonder why these were ever removed.)
Configurable Tweaks and Mechanics (All Customizable)
[E] = Enabled by default | [D] = Disabled by default
- Unlimited Villagers [E]: Villagers and Wandering Traders will no longer restrict trade opportunities. You may need to reopen the trading menu to see new options available.
- Persistent Dragon Egg [E]: A dragon egg will consistently drop, regardless of how many times the dragon is defeated.
- No Temptation Cooldown [E]: Animals will no longer enter a cooldown phase after losing interest in held food items.
- Startup Sounds [E]: Plays a random sound from a specified list each time the title screen loads. This can be left blank to disable. (Ensure adherence to the format rules when adding personalized sounds.)
- Hide Creative Tab Tips [E]: Removes labels such as “Functional Blocks” or “Natural Blocks” from the creative inventory tooltips.
- [Botania] Disable Garden of Glass Stars [E]: Stops Botania’s Garden of Glass skybox from changing stars and consequently making them overly bright.
- Zombie No Grief [E]: Prevents zombies from breaking down doors.
- Creeper No Grief [D]: Explosion impacts will no longer damage blocks, though they will still inflict harm on players.
- Enderman No Grief [E]: Stops Endermen from picking up blocks.
- Ghast No Grief [E]: Prevents fireballs launched by Ghasts from destroying blocks, as long as the Ghast remains alive.
- Dragon No Grief [D]: The Ender Dragon will not be able to destroy blocks while flying, which is relevant only if you have constructed structures within the dragon’s flight area.
- Wither No Grief [D]: This setting prevents both the initial explosion upon spawning and the skull projectiles from damaging blocks. Similar to Ghasts, it only stops damage as long as the Wither is alive, since the projectile’s source is checked.
- Bonfire Soulfire [E]: Utilizes Soul Campfires for the bonfire system instead of standard ones.
- Bonfire Spawn Point [E]: Allows players to create temporary spawn points using Bonfires by Sneak-Right-clicking them. (Note: This won’t alter the official spawn point, but it teleports the player back to the bonfire upon dying.)
- Bonfire Blessings [E]: Grants specific effects to players upon right-clicking a bonfire. You can leave this blank to disable. (Please follow the format rules when adding custom ones.)
- Spawn (near) Structure [E]: Enables players to spawn in proximity to selected structures. You can use a tag like
#minecraft:village(default) or specify a structure ID such asminecraft:mansion. (Note: If the structure is underground, such as a Stronghold, you’ll still spawn at the world surface.) - Spawn Structure Blacklist: If using a tag, you can blacklist certain structure IDs. For instance, if you are employing
#minecraft:villagebut wish to exclude snowy villages, simply addminecraft:village_snowyto the blacklist (this is the default setting).

Integration with Modpacks
You’re welcome to incorporate this mod into your own modpacks. However, please note that full support may not be available, as I do not frequently mod Minecraft.
