Have you ever thought that wolves in Minecraft receive far less attention compared to cats, which come in not just one but ten different varieties? The mod titled MoreImprovedWolves (Enhanced Wolves) introduces five new wolf variants and a coyote into the game. Additionally, their behavior pack and animations have been improved, along with some tweaks to their models and more.
All the new wolf types spawn throughout Minecraft, while the coyote is found exclusively in desert biomes. Each of them features custom sounds and breathing animations.
Changes:
- Wolves now exhibit fear towards players, unless the player is holding a bone. In that case, the wolf will approach slowly and once it takes the bone, it will become tamed. This behavior resembles that of cats. Just remember to avoid sudden movements.
- Wolves will pick up any item left behind (they simply take objects, while they consume food). If a wolf picks up an item or block you need, drop some food so the wolf drops everything it has in exchange for the food. Additionally, wolves sometimes hunt sheep and eat their meat after killing them. You can beat them to it and claim the meat for yourself.
- All types of wolves will have a breathing animation.
- There are some adjustments to the model: a smaller snout and pointed ears.
- Coyotes are a different type of mob. They exclusively inhabit desert areas, are slightly smaller than wolves, and possess a bit more speed. Their diet consists mainly of rabbits, and if you wish to tame one, offer it raw rabbit meat. Coyotes have higher health compared to wolves, but their bite damage is lower.
- The common wolf is referred to as the white wolf.
- The spawn rate for sheep and rabbits has been increased to provide food sources for wolves.
Spawn Locations:
- Black wolves: primarily spawn in taiga, cold taiga, and rarely in forests.
- White wolves: mostly found in cold taiga, also in birch forests, while they appear infrequently in taiga and other forest types.
- Brown wolves: spawn in savannas. There are also light brown and dark brown variants (which spawn in dark forests).
Black wolf. Gray wolf. Light brown wolf. Brown wolf. Dark brown wolf. Coyote.
