Introducing the Hivecraft Mod: An Addon for Minestuck in Minecraft PE!
Welcome to the captivating world of Alternia, the home planet of the Trolls from the popular webcomic Homestuck, now available in Minecraft through the Hivecraft mod. This exciting addition is dedicated to transforming your Minecraft experience by introducing a whole new dimension filled with unique biomes, a plethora of building materials, food farming options that were previously only discoverable in frog temples or through alchemy, and a variety of new mobs to encounter!
Alternia is jam-packed with essential resources for entering the game’s medium, including frog temples, cruxite, and naturally occurring quartz, making it a must-visit for any player.
Biomes of Alternia
Oracle Canopy
Step into the Oracle Canopy, a chilly forest brimming with towering blue trees. Fans of Homestuck will recognize this biome as the location of Terezi’s hive, creating a nostalgic experience for avid followers of the series.
Bramble Forest
The Bramble Forest is a mysterious and dim area populated by sharp, dry trees. The wood harvested here is crucial for crafting Bug Nests. Additionally, this biome is home to the friendly Cat Lusi! These creatures can be ridden like horses without the need for a saddle and can be tamed by feeding them cooked grub meat, their preferred delicacy.
Rocky Plains and Rocky Plateau
Inspired by the surroundings of Vriska and Equius’s hives, the Rocky Plains and Rocky Plateau feature vast expanses inhabited by Spider Lusi. These large arachnids can be tamed and serve as loyal guardians, but it’s advisable to keep the number of tamed spiders to a minimum, as they can become quite territorial around each other and other Lusi.
Key Features of the Mod
Recuperacoons
To establish your spawn point on Alternia, craft a recuperacoon using grubs and sopor slime. Simply right-click the core of the recuperacoon while standing in sopor slime to set your spawn location.
Cobalt
Cobalt emerges as a new metal option, allowing players to upgrade diamond gear as a substitute for Netherite. While offering identical stats to Netherite items, cobalt gear requires no smithing template, needing only two ingots for crafting as opposed to one, ensuring seamless integration. If you possess Netherite gear, you can still enhance your cobalt items into Netherite for compatibility with this mod.
The Blinding Sun
Beware of the sun in Alternia, as gazing at it can damage your eyesight. To stay safe during daylight, either remain indoors or keep a low profile! Should you become blinded, you can create Eye Drops using salt, zinc, and water to restore your vision.
Bug Nests
Bug Nests can be crafted using Bramble Wood and dirt, serving as a good source of food. Bait your nests with either rotten flesh or specially crafted insect food to attract different insects.
Grubs and Grub Nests
Grub nests are scattered throughout the forests of Alternia. Breaking these nests yields several grubs. You can place grubs on the ground and pick them up again, but if you add insect food to a grub nest, it will eventually spawn another grub.
Hemospectrum Dyes
Explore the biomes of Alternia to discover flowers that can be transformed into twelve unique dyes representing the colors of the hemospectrum. Utilize these dyes for crafting hiveglass and lusus wool blocks. You can also obtain these colors from Troll Blood dropped by Shadow Droppers.
Important Notes
This mod was developed using Mcreator, marking a significant milestone for me as my first large-scale project. I welcome constructive feedback and bug reports with open arms.
Certain textures within this mod include edited vanilla and Minestuck textures for coherence and visual consistency. Previously, this mod was uploaded to Curseforge but will no longer receive updates through that platform.
Make sure to check out Minestuck as this mod requires it to function properly.
