A Data Pack that retains a Soul along with your possessions and half of your experience levels
Death Soul
I was inspired by the Soul-Link mechanic from Vanilla Refresh but wanted an independent version. This Data Pack fulfills that desire and offers a bit more.
The Moment of Death
Upon your demise, a Soul is generated. This Soul functions similarly to a “Gravestone,” safeguarding all your items accompanied by half of your experience levels.
If you fall into the void, the Soul will appear at Y:64. In contrast, if you perish in lava, the Soul will surface near the lava location. Remember, Souls have a lifespan of 15 minutes before vanishing completely, so ensure you retrieve your belongings!
How to Retrieve Your Soul
After you respawn, you will receive a Special Recovery Compass. Collecting a Soul will cause all special compasses in your inventory to be removed. Additionally, Souls can be gathered by other Players, granting them various Defensive bonuses for 10 seconds, as well as the items and experience levels contained within the Soul.
